I agree that it would probably be one of the Thessalonians.
Andrew
Probably 1 or 2 Thessalonians, James, or Philippians, but I'm not sure.
Child of God
Oh, OK. :) Bummer, I was hoping you would know. :)
Matthew Minica
My guess is Philippians. @Nicolas - I'm guessing that just to disagree with you. Jk sorta :P
I kind of hope they don't make any big changes for next year. I really liked the format this year.
Everett C
Probably 1 or 2 Thessalonians, James, or Philippians, but I'm not sure.
2 Corinthians 5:17
Except I would like more verses in the summer :)
SavedByGrace
Except I would like more verses in the summer :)
Amen!
Zach Grissom
Yes, more verses in the summer, and a few less at Nats. Balance it out a little.
Emma
Yes, more verses in the summer, and a few less at Nats. Balance it out a little.
Less verses during school!
Zach Grissom
Yes, that would be really nice.
Margaret Eddy
Less verses during Nats, especially since we'll have a lot less time!
Zach Grissom
That's true, they cut off two weeks.
Margaret Eddy
Wasn't it more than two weeks? It still seems like an enormous amount of time when you are trying to cram tons of information into your head every day!
Zach Grissom
This year (2013) it was the 20-23, I believe. 2014 is Oct. 29-Nov 1, I think. So you're right, it was actually three.
Matthew Minica
Less verses during Nats, especially since we'll have a lot less time!
Yeah, that's true. With only 9 weeks, I say 500, maybe up to 600, and no more.
Zach Grissom
For Seniors, that seems right. Say 3 or 400 for Juniors, and 1 or 200 for Primaries. That seems kind of small, but then we don't have much time.
Margaret Eddy
And hopefully a shorter and/or easier book! I didn't feel like I knew Ephesians very well even with the three months I had to study it.
Hannah W. (Adelaide)
152 days till materials are released :P :)!!!!!!!!
Zach Grissom
That seems like a long time.
Matthew Minica
Margaret Eddy
It was the longest book so far (if I am remembering correctly), and some things about it were easy, but Paul packed theology in there pretty tight.
Matthew Minica
I've found length does not have that much to do with it. (For me, anyways.)
2 Corinthians 5:17
Yeah, that's true. With only 9 weeks, I say 500, _maybe_ up to 600, and *no more*.
Agreed.
Jarrett
What happens if they release most of the verses in the summer?
Zach Grissom
I'm in trouble.
biblebee
Uhhh…you memorize them.
SavedByGrace
I'm not understanding your question; what exactly do you mean by that?
2 Corinthians 5:17
I'm in trouble.
LOL…I'd probably be too :P Although I'd love the challenge :)
Margaret Eddy
What if they make us turn each of the passages into an interpretive dance?
2 Corinthians 5:17
Then I'm really in trouble :P
Emily H
That would be really cool… :P:P
Margaret Eddy
It would be awful. I wouldn't put past it them to at least turn it into an "Apply" section someday.
Emily H
It would be awful in a cool way. I wouldn't want them to ever to it though! Hehe, yeah, you're probably right.
Matthew Minica
What happens if they release most of the verses in the summer?
I highly doubt they will start that again. If it does happen, though, I won't be unhappy or anything.
2 Corinthians 5:17
I highly doubt it too…although I won't be surprised if they do raise the verses to closer to 100 or so, like in '12.
2 Corinthians 5:17
143 days till June 1st! :D :P
Sarah B.
To long till Bible Bee starts again….
Mommy's Helper
To long till Bible Bee starts again....
God's Maiden of Virtue
@Sarah and Hannah: Hey, no reason to be glum! You could be (and ultimitely should be) memorizing and studying God's Word all the time - not just during BB season. Choose maybe a book of the Bible to memorize or study in these next few months; there are treasures to be discovered and gems to be uncovered in His Word all the time!
Child of God
That's a wonderful idea!

To long till Bible Bee starts again....
could be worse…
Alas, for me remains a heavier doom,
Which I with some unwillingness pronounce:
The sly slow hours shall not determinate
The dateless limit of my drear exile;
The hopeless word of 'never to compete again'
Is breathed 'gainst me, on pain of being disqualified.
Sarah B.
Yep! I'm memorizing Romans! :)
Seth W.
Yeah, me too.
Hailed by the ignorant masses,
As a heightened state of existence;
Alas, the sound of trumpets proclaiming years gone by,
My ear hears as the sound of hammer against nail,
On my coffin - as a sign
That forevermore I am banned,
Never again to be what I once was.
That door has been nailed shut to me.
Okay, yours is better. :)
Sarah B.
Are you trying to make me cry?
Emily H
@Sarah, and Seth: cries
Sarah B.
So glad I'm not the only one! cries harder then Emily :P
^Just one more year and I'll be writing stuff like that too! Our BB years are numbered.^
Matthew Minica
Alas, alack! Two years have I
Before my bell of doom will peal.
This fate must befall me as well.
For though I were but four days hence
Born from where my birth date lays,
(Or were the deadline four days prior,)
I would still have yet three more years.
Oh Shelby Kennedy Foundation!
Wilt thou allow me this privilege?
What much difference doth four days make,
When I could have another year?
However, if you do decide
(Though I surely hope you will not)
To keep the deadline as it is,
I will not grumble or complain.
I yet possess the greater treasure
That age will never take from me.
Sarah B.
Okay! Now I have to do one too! :)
Matthew Minica
haha :)
Emily H
It's just soooo terribly sad! :( :P reads Matthew's and starts crying again
