Against unnecessary rules. I pride myself on not abiding illogicality. Unnecessary rules like "limits on quoting" that really _don't_ have a good reason behind them are illogical. If there were users who would often use inappropriate phrases, rules against such a thing would be merited, and I would help to enforce them. There are good reasons for those kinds of rules. A "quoting rule" has no such reasons.

Again we find Sam—- of not adhering to his own rules. Why do you want to limit the length of the thread to 500 or 1000? As I remember, it was a lot to wade through if one was looking for a specific post. Which I completely understand, supposing that you will admit to illogical use of 2+ quoting, as it makes for very long pages. She wants to limit the length of a page, you want to limit the length of a thread. In any event, you have to abide by her rules, because she was the author of the thread. Good times.

SC's are different that specific topics. They're more public domain. And, the page limit is agreed by those who use it, and for the most part we've said 1000 for this one as well, although a few have popped for the "unlimited SC". And, if I do quote, it makes it easier for me to find conversations.

In my opinion, it doesn't make it any easier to find anything because you have to scroll through soooo much quoting.
