Thinking of different things going on/that are coming up, I sort of feel like it maybe isn't God's will for me to qualify this year - and He has given me complete peace about either position. I have been extremely blessed by what I have been learning throughout the SS and verses; I couldn't care less about the competition! ^Praise God!^

I'm glad to hear your studying is going so well!

The only thing right now is that I can't seem to stay focused…I feel like I keep saying, "I'll do it later, I have time" and then I end up not.

How is yours going? Is there anything I can pray for you about?

My studying is going much, much better as of today. We/I have been so busy this summer, I have really struggled to keep up in BB in regards to the competition - but I have learned so much from it all, that the competition really doesn't matter to me. I have been drawing so much closer to God, and have been amazed particularly at how the Gospel is laid out in Jonah. :)
Today, I finally had a lot of the day to study! I was able to finish my list of the Greek and Hebrew words/definitions and start memorizing them, start memorizing Jonah (finally x), and review all of my verses!
One way you could be praying for me is that I would be using each day to be diligent and productive, and that I would manage my time well, with everything going on. And also that I would be continuing to draw closer to the Lord in my prayer life. Thank you for asking, Ashley, I really appreciate that. Is there any way that I can be praying for you?

Memorizing is SO not my thing! :) I have all my passages done and Chapter 1 and 3 of Jonah (random order! :) and need to start really trying to do the Greek/Hebrew words… (now that I have finished the SS) I am right now REALLY focused on the CR's, there are a LOT of them! :) haha

My list of things to do is:
Finish the Cross References
Finish Memorizing Jonah
Learn all the Greek/Hebrew Words

Wow, ^ That makes it seem so small! :)

Umm…if you would pray that I finish everything, that my memorizing would go well, and that I would be ready for the contest. :) Also, not about Bible Bee…one of my good friends was just diagnosed with Breast Cancer…if you could pray for her, her family, and her friends who so deeply love her!

Less than one month…

What do you do for the cross references?

I am using Excel to study. I entering the reference in one column, the summary in one, then how it relates to Jonah, and finally where in Jonah it can be related to. :) I don't know how well it is going to work, but I am going to try to use it and I think it is a good way to study. :)

I have tabbed my Bible for every cross reference and I have used 3 packs of 100! My Bible is VERY colorful with all the different tabs! :) Haha

Yes! I would not be in Bible Bee if it weren't to learn more of the Word and of God!

It sounds like your memorizing is going quite well! How often do you review everything? How is your learning of the Greek/Hebrew words coming?
I have had my verses done, but am struggling to review them every day/every other day…and I only just started memorizing Jonah. x) I am almost done with chapter one, and am hoping to finish that and start on chapter 2 by the end of the week. I am working on memorizing all of the Greek and Hebrew words, but have very few ideas for what I'm going to do about all of the CR… :) It is amazing to me just how many verses/passages are cross references to Jonah!

Haha, I feel like I am behind! But whether or not I qualify to go on to the National competition, I will have gained a trophy far greater than any earthly treasure or prize!

I will be praying for you, that you would be able to fit in everything that you would like to accomplish in BB, and that you just be well-prepared for the contest. Remember 1 Corinthians 9:25!
And I will certainly pray for your friend and her family…I can't imagine what she must be going through. Remember that He is with her, even in - especially in - the midst of trials.

I don't feel prepared enough to go very far in the competition, as this has been such a busy summer, but I've learned so much from studying Jonah, I couldn't care less! I feel like that imperishable prize has become so much more valuable to me this past year.
Just go in and do your best, all for the glory of God alone - and leave the results in His hands! =)
