Aw, really!?? I would have never guessed! I haven't listened to him in such a long time… (mostly because I can't find any of the CDs we have of him:( )

I love I Am Your Shield! Oh, and actually, Sarah and Grace Mally wrote Let My Life Be a Light. =)
Sarah
Me too! I'm trying to learn how to play it on the piano, but since you can't hear the left hand as much in the song, it keeps throwing me off track. :-)
Yeah, you're right. But the Wissmanns sing it, so who cares who wrote it? :-P Just kidding! :-D

I should've learned it on the piano a while ago (since I play part time for our Bright Lights group), but I've sorta been procrastinating… : |

Cool! My mom wants me to play for our Bright Lights group, but we never got the music coordinated. :-)
Oh dear! Try laughing out quiet. We don't want you waking up Mercy. :-)

Laughing out loud quietly?! Are you trying to make me snort instead?! ^When I try to hold in a laugh, or try to do it quietly, it usually comes out in a loud, and extremely hilarious snort. :P^

"I'm leaning on the everlasting arms"…..
Sarah B.
Can you whistle with an acorn tope? Of course. … ;)
water-walker
I really like most forms of whistling. Handwhistling, normal whistling, whistling with a blade of grass, whistling with an acorn top, etc, etc, etc.
Sarah B.
Have you ever made a whistle out of wood (carved one)? I know it's pretty easy if you have the tools… I have never made one, but I have one that a friend made for me. It's interesting to look at and see how it was made. :)

I never have. I read how to do it a few years back, but I never did it.

In my wrestling and in my doubts
In my failures You won't walk out
Your great love will lead me through
You are the peace in my troubled sea
You are the peace in my troubled sea
In the silence, You won't let go
In my questions, Your truth will hold
Your great love will lead me through
You are the peace in my troubled sea
You are the peace in my troubled sea
My Lighthouse, my lighthouse
Shining in the darkness, I will follow You
My Lighthouse, my Lighthouse
I will trust the promise,
You will carry me safe to shore (Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh)
Safe to shore (Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh)
Safe to shore (Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh)
Safe to shore
I won't fear what tomorrow brings
With each morning I'll rise and sing
My God's love will lead me through
You are the peace in my troubled sea
You are the peace in my troubled sea
Fire before us, You're the brightest
You will lead us through the storms

One of my favorite songs! :D

My piano arrangement of "Gratitude" is almost all written out! I'm considering getting a Musescore account to put some of my arrangements online; if I do, I'll have to share the link! :-D
God's Maiden of Virtue
Yes, you should!! I would love to hear them! And when you get them on paper, I can learn play them! :D :D
Sarah
Bring your tired;
Bring your shame;
Bring your guilt;
Bring your pain.
Don't you know, that's not your name.
You will always be much more to me.
Every day I wrestle with the voices that keep telling me I'm not right,
But that's alright–
'Cause I hear a voice, and He calls me redeemed,
When others say I'll never be enough.
And greater is the One living inside of me
Than he who is living in the world.
Bring your doubts;
Bring your fears;
Bring your hurt;
Bring your tears.
There'll be no condemnation here:
You are holy, righteous, and redeemed.
Every time I fall, there'll be those who will call me a mistake,
But that's okay,
There'll be days when I lose the battle;
Grace says that it doesn't matter,
'Cause the cross already won the war.
I am learning to run freely,
Understanding just how He sees me,
And it makes me love Him more and more.
And greater is the One living inside of me,
Than he who is living in the world.
Sarah
Alright! Once "Gratitude" is done, I'll probably be writing down "Hero's Journey", "Carol of the Bells", "I Am Your Shield", and simplified versions of "Winter Games" and "River Flows in You". So you'll be plenty busy. :-)
God's Maiden of Virtue
xD Well, I know how to play "I Am Your Shield" and "River Flows in You", so the arrangements/versions should be fun to play. xD

Haha, you finally learned "I Am Your Shield"? So did I, obviously! I'm still not sure what to do at the end of the bridge, though. Four broken A chords in a row seems like a lot. Did you do anything different?

Well…yeah. But I'm really not supposed to be playing much piano right now because of my wrist. :P
No, I liked that part of the song a lot, actually. It really made it come to life and sound beautiful, so I kept it that way.

Haha! Try using your real wrist instead of your virtual one. :-P
Yes, it is pretty! It just seems repetitive sometimes. I took the B and C# out of the fourth chord, though, which helps some. :-)

My real wrist? I'm confused.
Hm, okay. :) I just create majestic dynamics at that part to make it fit well with it.

I thought you were referring to the wrist you injured dragging the coffin around. :-) Did you injure your real wrist, too?
Yep, that's a lot of it, too. :-)

Speaking of playing the piano, I need to go do my piano practice, and then I'm off to bed. Good night! hugs :-)

I sprained it pretty badly two weeks ago playing tag…

Yikes! That sounds painful! :-(
Alright, now I'm really leaving. :-)

If you have any.
God's Maiden of Virtue
I wrote a song for Mercy ("Dominus Exaudivit Me") back in the fall last year ^extremely simple^, and started to transcribe it, but that is about it. :)
Seth W.
I like simple stuff - most of what I write/arrange is surprisingly easy. I often only play a melody and some chord stuff in the right hand and broken chords in the left. I guess I like to make each note count, even though I would prefer/expect for people to take what I write as a guideline/suggestion rather than making sure to play every note exactly as written.
Do you have the Dominus Exaudivit Me written in some kind of digital format (MuseScore or something like that)?

Hero's Journey is currently uploading to Musescore! is excited
Seth: My username is SJF11275, if you want to find me. Or you could just search "Hero's Journey"– I'm not sure if anyone else has done a piece by that name.
Sarah
Is anyone here on Musescore under the username AlyGator17? Someone with that username favorited one of my pieces, but I have no idea who it is. :-)
Seth W.
Thanks Sarah! I found it. I should think about doing that with some of mine…I use Musescore, but I don't have an 'account' so nothing is online (not that I really have much to put on there anyway).

I play piano, and a little guitar. My mom plays piano for our church (my dad's the pastor)…
I like to listen to contemporary Christian music. :) I even downloaded some unto my kindle so I can listen to something all the time, (except when it needs to charge! :( ). :D

Sweet song! XD Mind if I download your song? I won't do anything with it you can be sure.
Of course you can download it! That's why it's online! :-)
And if you want to "do something with it", that's probably fine too. The license I put on all my work is a Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike, which means that you can do anything with it, even use it commercially, under two conditions: 1. You have to give me (my note– and preferably the composer as well) credit for the work, and 2. you have to make it available under the same conditions under which you received it. Which leaves you free to do pretty much anything with it. :-)
Steve W.
Awesome, thanks! :)

You're welcome! :-)
