Welcome to the forums, Joanne! I have approved your first post; all future posts will be automatically approved.
I will let someone familiar with the Bee this year respond to your question.
Emma
They are posted on the website. If you sort through them to look at your state, you could look for the city/town where you live and find their scores there. Do you have their contestant IDs?
Everett C.
Click on the slide that says local scores posted. Then enter id or state. Congratulations!

No wonder Seniors always score higher than Primaries and Juniors; they have more study time!
Matthew Minica
Hehehe! Not at Locals! :P (and besides, I think Juniors was actually the best-performing group overall in '09-'11. Only when I entered Seniors did that change. :P)

Laughs xP

Yeah, he really likes it that he's been in the best-performing group every year. xP Now I'm in it, too!

Keep studying hard, or study harder? I gotta study harder.
His Servant
Okay, what you said - study harder. But, I'm pretty much draining my body of energy from studying as much as I have been… ;)
^that sounds weird, but I can't think of a better way to word it.
Everett C.
Ah, I must do that soon.
His Servant
Drain it of energy?
Everett C.
Not quite. Then I wouldn't be able to bubble in the answers on the test.
His Servant
What then were you referring to, that you must do soon?
As long as I can hold up for another 20 days, I'm good. =) After that, I can get more sleep, and much needed stuff like that. =)
God's Maiden of Virtue
Question for either one of you: Do you have any suggestions for how to best study on very busy days, with very little time?
Everett C.
Oh, like drain 99% of my energy. I'm probably only using 50% right now.
His Servant
Before I go to bed: Do what is the priority, not what seems the most fun. It's easy sometimes when you have little time to do what seems the easier, just remember to do what will help you the most in the long run.
Dunno if that helps, but I gotta run! bye!
God's Maiden of Virtue
No, that's a good suggestion; I know I slip into that sometimes. But it doesn't help that everyday tends to be busy. : |
Everett C.
You must identify the most important thing and focus on that one part. In my opinion, that's comprehension of the study book. If you don't understand Nahum, learning Hebrew words and CR's aren't gonna help much. Of course they aid understanding, but you must lay the foundation before building the house. For verses, I would try to perfect all passages less than 5 verses.
God's Maiden of Virtue
I understand this, and am doing it, but what do I do on those days that are very busy? (Which is virtually everyday, unfortunately)
Everett C.
How many minutes do you have to study?
God's Maiden of Virtue
Whatever extra time I can afford; which is probably 1 1/2 hrs. tops.
Everett C.
1 hour on verses and 30 min on Nahum
God's Maiden of Virtue
Okay…I'll see how well it works out. Though, if anything, the area I am furthest behind in is my studying of Nahum. (You do not want to know where I am in it…)
Everett C.
Three things:
- Don't think about memorizing anything 3+ cards, unless you want to.
- Memorize Nahum
- Understand Nahum and deeply analyze it. Analysis + explanation = understanding.
God's Maiden of Virtue
I'm finishing my last long passage tomorrow, so no troubles there.
Memorize Nahum?? I had considered that, but I'll be so busy trying to perfect my verses, I don't know if I'll have time to do that. But if I can do that, I will.
I am currently using John Calvin and John Owen's commentary on Nahum, and Logos for everything else.
I need to head to bed now. Thank you for your suggestions; they are very appreciated. :)
Everett C.
Oh, I didn't know that. Great! Then don't focus on the long ones.
Listen to it every day. It doesn't need to be perfect and you don't need to make a conscious effort to memorize it.
Good, there are some tricky parts in Nahum.
Do all that and you'll be pretty prepared.
You're welcome.
