Yeah, I get your point. That's why I'm going to have definite plans laid out if I were to let my children take the summer off. Because I don't want them to just spend the time doing nothing useful. :P
Lawl. You put too little faith in your kids. And you don't even have them yet. XD

Whale, my parents put too much faith in me and I ended up wasting a ton of time as a result. So I don't want to be that way with my own kids. ;)

May the 4th be with you, by the way. ;)

Thanks! I said that to the family we visited yesterday, and not very many of them understood it. =( Even when I said it was Star Wars day!

You'll send them over to my house so that we can run around in the backyard with lightsabers, read Spider-Man comics, and discuss the reasons people have always loved heroes. ;)
Yes, of course... That sounds like a totally redeeming way to spend the summer. =P Seriously, tho, if I ever feel the need to educate my kids on comic book and superhero culture, you will be the first person I take them to. ;)

It is! It's best to know the reasons you enjoy things and how they relate to your beliefs from an early age. Most of my childhood, I didn't think about any of the things I liked. I just knew that I liked them, and that they weren't bad. I really believe that I could have grown in maturity a lot if I'd had someone to help me understand why I like what I like, how it doesn't contradict my own convictions, etc. :)

Just because I'd want them to be diligent during the summer doesn't l mean I don't have faith in them. :P Which is weird, cause I obviously don't have children. :P

They'll obviously be doing Bible Bee over the summer. Wouldn't that make them diligent enough? XD

Very true. Except I'd probably be more towards the side of why some of those things do contradict my family's convictions about redeeming time, living for Christ, etc. Not that it's always wrong to enjoy the things, but that it's not right to obsess over them or spend too much time on them. So, yeah, I definitely see the merit in having those discussions early on. =)

What were your current thoughts about head coverings?

1 Corinthians 11:15b: For her hair is given to her as a covering.

What were your current thoughts about head coverings? 1 Corinthians 11:15b: For her hair is given to her as a covering.

But it is sort of confusing, because

1 Corinthians 11:6: For if a wife will not cover her head, then she should cut her hair short. But since it is disgraceful for a wife to cut off her hair or shave her head, let her cover her head.

Probably depends on how much of the night was spent doing that, how the siblings treated each other during the activity, and what other things were or weren't neglected during the time. ;)
What if it was a free night and there was a spirit for friendly rivalry in the air?????
Then it sounds like it'd probably be fine. ;) It's just that the above questions would be ones I would legitimately ask before deciding for myself that that's how I would spend my time for an evening.
Lawl. "You guys better not have been fighting before I came home; I really want to play some Smash Bros!" XD

That's not at all what I mean. =P

Wow... just got an e-mail from Martin that totally shot down all of the things I said about my current thoughts on head coverings, without any real argumentation, just a lot of emotional reaction... I'm kinda shocked and discouraged.. That's not like him, and I legitimately wanted his thoughts on the subject. Not sure how to respond...
What were your current thoughts about head coverings? 1 Corinthians 11:15b: For her hair is given to her as a covering.
But it is sort of confusing, because 1 Corinthians 11:6: For if a wife will not cover her head, then she should cut her hair short. But since it is disgraceful for a wife to cut off her hair or shave her head, let her cover her head.

Precisely. If you want my exact thoughts, head over to the TD I revived the other day that addresses the issue. ;)

He has felt a bit off though, at least to me. Maybe he's really busy, and he's stressed. Don't go too hard on him. ;)

Oh, I'm sure he's busy and stressed. I saw him on Saturday, though, and he seemed fine… So I'm not sure where this came from.
