Click "forgot your password" on the login page and do everything else it says.
I did have a whole big explanation typed out, but then something weird happened and it was all lost. :(
M27
Will it let me pick my password if I do that?
Hiruko Kagetane
Of course not! I mean, it doesn't make sense that if you forgot your password, you'd receive an email that lets you change it, now does it? :P

Some sites give you a new password and don't let you pick.
Mommy's Helper
Yes, it will.
M27
So you're saying that it will let me pick? is surprised
Mommy's Helper
Yes, I'm saying that. isn't surprised
M27
So where does it say "forgot your password" or something like that? I logged out, but didn't see anything.
Everett C.
Try to log back in but type in an incorrect password. You should see the "forgot your password" thing right below the login button.
M27
Thank you! It worked!
Everett C.
You're welcome :)
Mommy's Helper
Yeah. I did have a big list of instructions written out but then it got deleted somehow.
M27
Oh, and thank you, Hannah!

I have a question: how do I choose what group to be part of? I don't know anyone on MV. (Except Rachel :).)Since I'm a member of a Reformed church, I chose "Reformed."
What is the purpose of the groups? Some seem to be actual groups like ICF and Bible Bee, some are just churches again, and some are a bit unusual, like "People for the Ethical Treatment of Desks."

Seventh-day Adventist group, or if your king james you could join the King James Only group… etc etc. ;)

Fun!
2 Corinthians 5:17
Ah, "People for the Ethical Treatment of Desks" is for those of us who "facedesk". ;D It's a Memverse joke. ;)

That's correct you would be Reformed. Its just some of us take denominations with a grain of salt or smidgen of gunpowder.
Facedesking was a wonderful past time but after a while it received backlash from groups such as the "PotEToD's" who FORCED us to use it in such extreme moderation that it has now fallen out of practice all together. I do hope I can be revived.

I figured that :)

When facedesking, does one's face actually come into forceful physical contact with one's desk?
Rhoda K
Thanks Batman. It's a bit hard to see what all the groups are, since only some are on the leaderboard. I'll just stick with Reformed unless persuaded otherwise. :)

Ohkays. ;)
2 Corinthians 5:17
Not usually… XD It's just a term that some people around here (you know who you are ;) ) use to express frustration or if they are at a loss for words. ;)

It's not literal - it's like facepalming. :P
2 Corinthians 5:17
Yeah, sorry. x)
Esther Grace
No problem. :)

Maybe I should start a group for the ethical treatment of faces?

Question: When to click "reply" or "quote" when posting? Still figuring this whole thing out :)
Emma
I usually only use quote when I want the other person to have context for what I'm saying, Otherwise I use the reply.
^You might be unsure, however, because certain other people quote entire conversations, making huge posts.^

Question: When to click "reply" or "quote" when posting? Still figuring this whole thing out :)
I don't think it really matters. I just usually quote, but it depend whether you like to have long post or not. :p Or if your talking to a few people at the same time but on like different subjects ^if you know what i mean^ then i think it would be a good idea to quote so you don't get confused about whose talking about what. ;)
ZachB
If I am responding to the last post I usually click reply. If the post I am replying to is further back, or I want to repeat something someone says, I click quote.
Rhoda K
Thanks for that, Zach. Sounds like a good way to do it. :)

New Question (from a no longer new user) :
Why does the home page say "New Zealand is now #5 on the country leaderboard [4 hours ago]
South Africa is now #6 on the country leaderboard [4 hours ago]" etc? Nothing changed, did it?
Rhoda K
On the other hand, maybe they have changed.
So my question is, why are the changes on the home page and how often are they put on there?
Mommy's Helper
Whenever something important happens on Memverse then it gets put on there. Like… "so and so just won the Bible knowledge quiz" or "so and so just memorized his 1000th verse".
Gloria
It also says if a quiz is starting, and If you get a badge… :p
Rhoda K
Yeah, but I want to know how often leaderboard changes are mentioned on the home page. :)
Mommy's Helper
Dunno… whenever a group/church/state/country moves up on the leaderboards…
SavedByGrace
I've often wondered the same thing, but as of yet I've been unable to come up with a sufficient theory…
Gloria
Maybe every couple hours or something… idk. :p
Matthew Minica
The one on the left is for big changes (like the top 3 or 5 or something) and the one on the right is more for the top 6-20 or so on the leaderboard. Any changes are posted right when the leaderboard is viewed, I think.

Okay, when the leaderboards are viewed would seem correct. Thanks :)

New question from an old_ish_ user: is it possible to join multiple groups? I'm in the BB group right now, and don't really want to abandon it, but I would like to join the BB seniors group.
I can only figure out how to be in one group at a time…

I don't think so……

OK, thanks :/
