I am now a licensed driver. :)

And I now have my learner's permit :D. So I've now had the experience of being passed, almost driving into the ditch, and nearly running into the house when I was pulling in. And did I mention that I've only driven one mile? :)

Congratulations! Lol, you made me laugh when you mentioned one mile. XD you're gong to keep getting better and better! ;)

I sure hope so! I hadn't realized how hard it was to drive until I was actually doing it. I don't really want to be the first of us children to have a wreck :).

I know. xD The Edwards (Arianna and Jeremiah). I'd never met them before and I didn't know they were going to be there either. xD It was pretty awesome. We all recognized each other from seeing each other at Bible Bee (we were actually seated on the same row at the opening ceremony and I had to walk past them to get to my seat. xP) and it was really fun to meet them and hang out with them for a while, and meet a friend of theirs who had qualified for nats, thought he didn't end up going. So yes, it was very, very, very wonderfully amazing. Ummmm…when you come out to CA! xD

Thanks! lol xD Yeah, it was at a speech and debate tournament! They did awesome too, Jeremiah made it to debate semi-finals, ending up in 4th, and he made semis and I think finals on some of his speeches too. Arianna made semis with all five of her speeches, and finals with four, and then won either 1st or 2nd (which would qualify you for nationals) with one or two of them. xD

That sounds extremely fun. xD Do you do debate?

xD Ish…I didn't do it there, nor have I ever done it at a tournament or anything, but I've done a little bit. It's awesome. Biggest regret of my childhood is that I never did much debate. xP

First off, do you consider team debate to be a fruitful exercise?

Allow me to address your points individually.

1. You are correct. Debates do involve disagreements. And this is ok. People will have difference of opinion, and it is perfectly acceptable to rationally hash them out (just as we are doing now). Debate can also be used to try to persuade someone that a certain belief they hold is wrong.
2. When individuals debate, yes. In team debate, no. However, I would say that debate between two people allows you to clearly develop logical arguments in your mind, and that it develops our independence rather than letting others think for us.
3. I'm not even going to address that xD
