100,000 Scripture Memory Verses
This summer, I had predicted that we would hit 100,000 verses on September 15th, 2011. Obviously I was wrong. However, I am hardly discouraged as it is so exciting to see so many new people using Memverse and seeing regulars reaching new heights and staying faithful with the Scripture. It is also very inspiring to read all the passion for God's Word on Memverse that stands in sharp contrast to what we often encounter off Memverse.
Our main focus on Memverse is always knowing, loving, worshiping, and serving the true, Living, Biblical God better and better through memorizing, meditating on, and obeying His Word. However, I think there is room in our goal to encourage and inspire each other as we meet different milestones here on Memverse.
So what do you think? When will we hit 100,000? You can make one prediction on the "Original guess" chart. You can also update that guess as many times as you want on the "Latest guess" chart. I will record up to 3 names for each date on each chart. Will you be the first to predict the right date? A big thanks to Julie of scripturestickies.com who is increasing the fun and adding prizes to those who guess the right date. I wonder who will have the honor of memorizing verse #100,000. Please join us in praying for each Memverse user as we memorize and interact with God's Word. Also pray for Andy, Alex, and Emeka as they keep working to improve Memverse.
Exact date you think we will reach 100,000 verses on Memverse?

A message from Julie:
Hello everyone! I love what you guys are doing here on Memverse as you memorize God’s Word and encourage each other. This contest looks like a lot of fun! A few years back, I started a ministry called Scripture Stickies to help people memorize and meditate on God’s Word. Scripture Stickies are stickable Bible verses and they are a fun way to help you study verses. They also make great gifts.
I would like to offer some prizes for this contest. To everyone who picks the right date on either the “Original Guess” or “Latest Guess” chart I will give one free Scripture Stickies pack of your choice. In addition, the first person to have picked the right date as their original guess will receive a free 6 month subscription to the “Scripture Stickies of the Month Club”. Although I will feel a little bad if I actually win and claim my own prize, I do want to join the fun, so I will predict October 28 as the date Memverse hits 100,000 verses. :)
If you think you have a good prediction, feel free to start looking for your favorite Scripture Stickies pack now on my website, www.scripturestickies.com.
To claim your prize, call me at 1-888-202-4007 or email me at email@example.com or mail me at 405 El Camino Real #434 Menlo Park, CA 94025 with your username and the address you want me to mail your Scripture Stickies to (also tell me which pack you chose and what version of the Bible you prefer). Alternatively, if you will be at the Bible Bee Finals in Nashville – and if 100,000 verses has been reached by then - you can pick up your prize in person at the Scripture Stickies booth.
Thank you and God bless!

This is fun!! I'm going to guess....October 27th. I don't know why..I'm just guessing :D That's the whole point :)
BTW...is Emeka new on the Memverse staff? I haven't heard of him before :) Just wondering
Rachel - Emeka Rajis is the one who did the redesign for Memverse! He put a lot of work into it and is the official Memverse graphic designer. :)
he did a great job!!
you know...I memorized 2 new verses on memverse today!! :D progress!! 10,393 to go!! :D
we now have 89,617 memorized!
I'm gonna guess...November 17th. :) My birthday. Make it your goal guys! just kidding :)
Well... I don't think I'll stick with my more pessimistic December 31st guess... the National Bible Bee date seems like a nice date to have, but too far away... I'll pick a random October 23rd. (Wish I could tie it to something, but sadly, I am unable to...)
Hmm....The end of the year and the National Bible Bee seems to far away so I'll chose something sooner than that. I think it will take us a little less than 4 weeks till we reach the goal of 100,000. So my guess is October 12 :)
This is cool. I'm going to guess, October 30
I'm guessing Nov. 17 because it's my birthday too! :)
September 31! JK! I'll guess... October 9th randomly.
Great to see all the good guesses. I am going to wait until Monday to make mine, and hope there is still a good date available. I am curious if anyone else has a Nov 17th birthday.
I'll go with the end of October like Sydney Reed: October 30th.
Bye guys (and gals)...leaving 4 the coast today so I won't be here much! Hope to keep up with doing my verses :D Bye!
I have no idea... probably sometime around the beginning of November. Maybe the fourth? :)
I think that probably at our current rate we'll have 100,000 verses memorized on/by October 20. This was an extremely close but incorrect first guess.
Hi. I checked the One Church leaderboard and right now we have 89,441 verses memorized. If we keep memorizing verses like we have been, I would probably agree with our good friend SavedByGrace - sometime around the beginning of November, or maybe even around the middle of October. I would not go so far as to set an exact date, though.
James 4:13-16 says: Go to now, ye that say, To-day or to-morrow we shall go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain: Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that. But now ye rejoice in your boastings: all such rejoicing is evil.
Of course, I don't think it would be sin to try to predict when we'll get to 100,000 verses, but I personally don't feel like trying to narrow it down to a certain date. I don't have a problem if others do it, but I simply don't want to do it myself - that way I can't guess wrong - huh huh.
@SavedByGrace: I've joined your group in their attempts to memorize the whole Bible - and I think it's great that you're doing this!
Great idea, Phil, such fun! :D Plus I love the idea of recognizing the 100,000th verse! :D That gives us something to look forward to, again, such fun! :D Love my little family of Memversians... :D :D
My guess: September 30th.
God bless you all and have a great day! :)
I will guess November 1 All Saints Day seems like a good day to accomplish it! :)
I am going to randomly guess that we will reach 100,000 memorized by/on November 1.
China, when is your birthday?
I'm guessing December 11th, My Auntie's Birthday!
nov 19th last day of BB
@mr. phil- i think there's a girl named rachel on here and her birthday is the 17th. :) I didn't know that was such a popular birthdate!
I will say that maybe on November 12 =D
Great to see all the new predictions. Also good to hear JAMES 4:13-16 shared by "On Christ the Solid Rock I Stand". We are to trust God with the future at all times. Some of you may remember my website Scripture Memory Challenge which was flying until one day it got shut down out of nowhere. Anything could happen to Memverse and we may never reach 100,000. Let's remember to not "Boast about tomorrow" even as we encourage and inspire each other about what God is doing with Memverse, and, LORD WILLING, will continue to do into the future. Another good warning comes from David insisting on counting the fighting men in 2 SAMUEL 24. We never want to rejoice in numbers above spiritual reality and a dependance on God. It is possible for us to memorize 100,000,000 verses on memverse (my prayer to, Lord willing, see in my lifetime) and still not see God work powerfully in our lives, our spheres of influence, our churches, our Christian culture, our countries, and our world if our focus is off of a dependance on God to powerfully use His Word and each 1 verse in our lives.
Having said all that, I still feel like we have the freedom to enjoy guessing dates and numbers in the right perspective and encouraging each other with how God has prospered memverse, and dreaming big, God-size dreams of what He may do through His Word in our lives and in the lives of all who memorize Scripture on memverse.
Marie, although I am hoping for an earlier date, it would add some extra excitement to Finals if we hit 100K at Nationals.
InSoloChristo, thanks for doing the calculations for hitting 1,000,000 verses at our current pace. I am going for extreme exponential growth and predicting that we hit 1,000,000 verses by Dec 31st 2012. Of course, we would love everyone's help in spreading the word about memverse to help us, Lord willing, hit that mark sooner rather than later.
I absolutely agree that we should remember God is sovereign, and I might not even get to post this comment!
I'm randomly guessing December 24th- Christmas Eve.
I am guessing October 12 because at our current rate, it will probably be on early October. Also, I like 12 because it is a nice round composite number made up of 2,2, and 3. You can divide it evenly by 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, and 12 itself. I am also guessing this because it is also someone elses guess, which means that I have higher chances of guessing right.
I'm going to say October 24. :)
While hoping Laurel, Clay, Hannah, Bethany, Joshua, or other early predictors are right, I will put my mathematically, scientifically, and statistically produced guess at October 13th. May God get all the glory for each and every verse we memorize, meditate on, treasure, share and obey.
October 13 is my guess, I am tempted to say later but.....
just keep praying!
I'm going to guess October 30th - if there's not room, do October 12th.
we'll jus thave to see!
I'm guessing..... October 28th :)
I memorized over 10 verses today :D
I'm gonna say December 25th. Great job Rachel!!
Hmmm... I'm going with October 20th.
So, apparently I didn't get the memo- My birthday's December 17th! :)
Constance! -I once had your same profile pic as mine! What kind of computer do you have?
Im gonna guess... November 2nd. Just seems aproxamatly right considering we memorized 1,000 verses in 5 days.
I guess October 15th. I think it's so amazing to see we're close to 100,000! God has really blessed Memverse.
@Jamie- and hp/Windows 7. I'm not sure which one of those controls the pictures...
I like your new one! It's all rainbow-y and stuff ;o)
@Constance Keating - Oh my goodness - that's my dad's birthday! :)
@Jamie - where did you get that picture? It's really pretty. :)
Just as an FYI, the pictures are based off of your email address. If you have not uploaded a picture, the service Memverse uses for avatars (called Gravatar) generates one for you.
I'm going to be really brave and guess September 25th we are sooooo close, and I think it is a pretty safe bet.
We just hit 91,000! 9,000 more to go; I think we can do this!
Congratulations, FFRASH, for memorizing verse number 91,000!!!! Can everyone help me identify who it is who memorizes each new 1000th verse as we count down to the big 100,000.
@Mr. Walker- FFRASH? What does that stand for? :?
Yay! 91,000! Getting close! :D
@Constance - I have a different computer so it must just be on different computers :)
@BibleBeeJunior11 - I got it off of google images. I was looking for a pic of rainbows and thought it was pretty so I saved it!
@ Mr. Walker Sure I'll help do that.
@Jamie - can I just save it from your photo i have a link that will save other people's photos onto my computer and I would like to use it on my other "blog post" avatar that I use sometime.
@Constance - I think that's someone's username
My guess is October 21 (my little brother's birthday).
@Mr. Walker: Do I get some sort of award for emerging from my hermitage and finally posting my first comment??!!!!
I will guess October 22!
@ BBJ11, your picture looks like something that might happen at my house!!!
@vburk - haha do you have little siblings? any siblings? i'm the oldest...and yes, that did happen - we did it on purpose...:)
@BibleBeeJunior11 - Sure!
Octavius, thanks for coming out of your hermitage to post. It seems to me there are actually over 10 people who have posted on this topic who I have never seen posting previous to this blog topic. However, I am expecting even quite a few more first time posters responding to my next very exciting "coming soon" blog. If your Oct 21 comes true, we may have to come up with some kind of cool prize or reward for sharing your wisdom with us.
Thanks, BondSlave. I am afraid some of them will happen when I am sleeping with a 12 difference time zone here in the Philippines.
FFRASH is the user name for the person who memorized verse number 91,000. Who will get verse number 92,000?
@Mr. Walker - May I know how you know exactly who memorized verse 91,000? I'm curious to know how you found that out.
EDIT - Oh, wow! That's neat that it tells you everything everyone has done on Memverse! Thanks Constance Keating for showing me! Yup, I'd never seen that there before :)
I don't know how you could find that out, unless you did it yourself....
I, for one, saw verse #91,000 memorized as it happened (on the Home page). I clicked the "Recently on Memverse" button, and ffrash was the one who had done it. :) That's probably how everyone else did it.
P.S. I'll try to help tell who did every thousandth verse! I probably won't catch every one, though... :)
[Deleted By Author]
Awesome! I never knew that "Recently on Memverse" was a button! Cool... :)
@Bethany It's on the homepage, below the thing that has all the verses memorized on Memverse and the verse of the minute, on the right.
I can't believe I never noticed that!!!
I am guessing October 29th.
I LOVE the "Recently on Memverse" page! It's such an encouragement to see that so many are devoting an integral part of their day to Scripture.
I'm not quite sure how the page is set up, as far as how many results it displays, but if I've been seeing it correctly, I believe it's consistently around 100. It's fun to see if all 100 were in the last couple of hours, indicating quite a high level of Memverse activity! (Right now the ~100 results were from the past 5 hours)
@BBJ11, I have eight younger siblings!
I vote for December 5
(Deleted by Author)
vburk--Wow, and I thought me being older than five siblings was a lot (and still having an older brother). But I know a couple of families with eleven kids! Are you the oldest in yours?
Yes, I remember how exciting it was when I first found out about the "recently on memverse" button after it had already existed for a few months. I also found out late that you can click on your state or church group and see everyone who memorizes from there. Very cool. Soon after I found out about the "recently on memverse" button, it said that Dakota Lynch had memorized ISAIAH 40:31 1 minute ago!!! I and Jim Woychuk had told Dakota about memverse, so it was so neat to see that he was using it, was online that moment and completing the memorizing of such an awesome verse. I had his email address and immediately sent him an email to encourage him.
@ Grace - yes, it's fun to watch the Memverse counter on the home page during peak time (around 9am (Eastern) because you can see the memory verse counter going up. I look forward to when it is ticking over constantly!
Amen, Andy, I believe that day is coming, Lord willing, soon. Is it possible to have the live memverse verse counter put on other websites? I believe Jim would include it on Scripture Memory Fellowship. I would love to include it on Scripture memory support and any new websites I make. I would be willing to bet other blogs and websites would also be excited about, or at least willing to include it on their site too.
AmyV, it looks like we have similar thoughts.
We now have over half of the October dates covered with 16 different dates.
@SBG, God's Bondslave is my older brother.
How can you tell how many verses memverse has memorized?
Mr. Walker, my hermitage was getting a little lonely, so I decided to take a risk...
Its exciting to hear that there are so many first-time commentors (commentors or commenters?), it probably somewhat reflects our growth-rate, awesome!
Oh, my guess was purely random - no calculations at all. If you call that wisdom - I'm one the wisest people on earth! Can't recall the reference, but that brought to mind a verse that says - "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom." I need a lot more of that kind of wisdom!
To those posting about siblings, I have ten of them! I am the eighth-born, hence the nick-name Octavius.
Jamie - You can check the "Home" page when you're logged in. Off to the right it says how many verses are memorized on Memverse. You can also check the "One Church" page under "Leaderboards".
is it to late to change my date?? If I can...I'd like it to be changed to October 20. I think that Oct. 27th is...well...not a good guess :)
@Rachel Crosswhite, it's funny because October 27th is my sisters Birthday! I also have another sister who's Birthday is on October 25th! To those posting about siblings, I have 7 of them! Not as many as Octavius. . .
Rachel, I was at first not going to allow this. However, I think it could be fun. Therefore, I made a 2nd chart of "Latest guesses" where everyone can change as often as they want. The only rule is that there can only be a maximum of 3 names for each date. Therefore you are Oct 27th or the original guess chart and the 3rd and last Oct 20th guess on the "Latest guesses" chart. (That is, unless someone leaves their Oct 20th guess - maybe to prefer Oct 27th :)
Everyone, please clarify in the future if you are giving an original guess or changing from ____ to _____.
so I can only guess 3 times?
Alethea - what year? I have a friend whos' birthday is the 27th too!
@Rachel Crosswhite, I think 2004
@Phil Walker - My guess is the eleventh of October I'm hoping thats within five days of the actual date
Hi guys! I'm back. I've missed all my MemPals! :) lol We had a yard sale today and it was really fun.
@Sydney Reed - I'm lovin' www.spareoom.net right now! :) I haven't found any good avatars lately (since I've already used all my favorites!) but I'll keep looking! I think you'll enjoy them though. They've got some really good ones, but not as many of The Voyage of the Dawn Treader ones...:(
@jamie - thanks
@vburk - wow that's a lot compared to us but just a trifle compared the the Duggar family (19 kids and counting). We actually met a couple who is actually 3rd cousins of the Duggars at our yard sale today! :) I was sooooo jealous! :) lol
Angela memorized verse 92,000! 8,000 more to go!
90,016! I got 8 today!!
(Deleted by Author)
Congratulations Angela ! Great Job everyone it is amazing what the Lord has allowed us to do !
I would like to pick November 2nd as my guess! Miss Laura said, God has really blessed Memverse! I agree! But, it has also blessed me and my Family! Thank you!
I am going to guess for the first time here, and I am thinking November 22nd. I really love this fun site! I look forward to it everyday. It has been a huge blessing to me in memorizing scripture!
It's cool that so many people on Memverse have big families! I have eight siblings (I'm number 6).
...I saw some of the Duggers once, but I didn't talk to them.
I am going to guess (1st guess) October 22nd! Keep up the good work everyone! To God Be the Glory!
I noticed that many of the users are discussing how many siblings they have. I have 5 of them.
@Josiah K - how many of the Duggars did you see? I saw all of them except James. (13th child) We got their newest book (which you guys should read, it's fantastic) and they were signing books so our book is signed by the parents and a bunch of the kids. :)
@Alethea Leonard - have any of your other siblings competed in the Bible Bee? You and Kerestel are the only ones who have made it to Nationals right?
Can I change my date to October 4, please?
@BibleBeeJunior11 - I only saw some of the older girls + Josh & Anna. I think my Dad saw all of them and got to hear them play and/or sing.
@BibleBeeJunior11, there's 8 kids (including me), in my family and 5 of us oldest competed. And yes, my older brother and me are the only ones who made it to Nationals. My younger brother was actually an alternate (in primary) but we don't think he will get called up.
Josiah K, where do you live?
@Alethea Leonard, I live in northeastern Ohio.
October 25 seems a little too far away now... Please change my guess to October 17. (I'm agreeing with the one who knows it all, Alex... :) Not really.) I calculated that if we go at the rate of 1000 verses in 3 days we would finish by October 19, and I expect us to increase our rate a bit.
Andrea Joy memorized verse 93,000! Only 7,000 more till we reach 100,000 memorized verses!
@Mr. Walker - I haven't decided yet, but I might change my date in a couple of days. :)
EDIT - How do you all how many seconds before you comment than someone else comments?
Andrea Joy memorized verse 93,000!
Congratulations Andrea Joy on memorizing verse 93,000 !
Congrats Andrea Joy! I might follow the trend and change my guess as well.... we'll see :)
oops-- I see I was 24 seconds late with that comment :)
Hi everyone! I'm a new memverse user, so I don't know the average of how many verses are memorized each day, so my guess will probably be way off. I thought of guessing October 2 because it's my mom's birthday, but that seems a little too soon. I think I'll go with October 29th. (Am I supposed to put that date anywhere other than here?)
Oh, since there's some discussion about family size, as of last year, we were the largest family that we knew of with all boys. We had eight boys and no girls (not including Mom). However, we recently had a little girl, which is really great, so we have eight boys and a girl now.
One other thing. What are the different "levels"? This may not be best place to ask that question, but like I said, I just started using it a couple days ago, so I'm not real farmilliar with how it all works. If anyone can tell me, I'd appreciate it!
Seth - the different levels are a way of challenging yourself to utilize Memverse's many different tools. There is a blog post that explains more here: http://www.memverse.com/blog/main/New_Memverse_Progression_System
That's so neat that you have a baby sister! Our family has 7 girls and 3 boys, so we're fairly imbalanced, but we've never known what it was like to have many of only one gender :) By the way, I think we ran into you last year at the Bible Bee after the Pendragon showing - our family had participated in the film's music, and we hung out a while afterwards :)
And yes, your guess is in the right spot :) Once Mr. Walker sees it, he will add it to the chart in the blog post.
I am changing my guess to Oct 20th
I am changing my guess to Oct 6th
I am guessing December 29th!~
Hi. Sorry to introduce something irrelevant, but I don't have a GetSatisfaction account, so commenting on the blog is the only way I can report errors.
I enjoy going to and looking at the intervals to see when I'll memorize my next verse. Sometimes it tells me that I'll memorize a certain verse on a certain day, and when that day comes, it doesn't review me on that verse. For example, I was supposed to memorize eleven verses on 9/26, and I wasn't even reviewed on the verses I was supposed to memorize. I checked the intervals, and for some reason I don't memorize them until sometime else now.
Seth, welcome to Memverse.
Jess, Oct 20th is "full" with 3 guesses. Do you have another guess?
On Christ The Solid Rock I Stand - I understand about not having a Get Satisfaction account; we reply to blog comments too. :) (If you are able to get an account with Get Satisfaction, though, you may find it worthwhile. It is free to register.)
I enjoy going to the My Verses page too. However, it doesn't tell you when you'll have a verse memorized... It gives you some information related to when it could be memorized, though: eFactor, Interval, Next Test Date, and the current Status of the verse (which is related to the Interval if the verse is activated -- a verse is counted as Memorized when your interval is over 30 days). You can look at this information, particularly the interval and next test date, and set an expectation of when the verse will be memorized, but there are no guarantees. It depends on how well you know the verse when you next review it and the previous eFactor.
Please let us know of any further questions related to this.
Another thing that may have happened: Perhaps you rated verses that were not due? This happens if you choose a rating (1 to 5) instead of clicking the fast-forward button (">>") when it is available. Verses that are not due but are rated never get an interval increase, but the next test date is pushed farther into the future. I hope that makes sense. Maybe this is what you were doing... I recommend pressing the fast-forward button when it is available; otherwise, those verses will not be marked "Memorized" until you start reviewing them when they are due...
It has been proposed in the past that we implement some special change to the algorithm for rating verses when they are not due and still increasing (or decreasing) the interval, but we have not yet determined what is best to do in this case...
@Seth Walley - welcome to the MemVerse blog! one of the best blogs ever! :)
@Sydney R - no problem
I'm having some trouble; whenever I click on the 'memorize' tab, it tells me that I have no verses due for review today, but when I go to 'my verses', I have several verses that are scuduled for review today.
Yesterday I added some verses and it let me start on them right away, but I added some more today and now it won't let me start on them. Does anybody know what is wrong?
Oh, and is there somewhere else that I am supposed to post my problems? Or is here as good a place as any?
@ Grace Mieczkowski: Thanks for the info. I think I remember meeting your family (or at least some of it, your faimily is bigger [by one] than mine!) after Pendragon was over; but it's rather vuage...I don't remember by sight very well.
@ Everyone who said welcome to memverse, Thanks.
Is there a way that I can look at the requirements for all the different levels? Or do I have to wait until I get to them?
Seth - Welcome! OK, it sounds like the issue you are encountering is that some of those new verses are "Pending". Please read the article at the following link about Pending Verses and let us know of any further questions: http://www.memverse.com/blog/main/Pending_Verses.
There is a community support forum here: http://getsatisfaction.com/Memverse (also accessible from the "Feedback" button attached to the right of every page).
Currently you can only see level requirements for the next level -- one step at a time.
Thanks Alex! That was it.
Can I change my guess to the 8th of October?
Stephanie Hills memorized verse 94,000! Only 6,000 more to go till we reach 100,000!
Congratulations to Stephanie Hills for memorizing our 94,000th verse!
My second guess--October 12th. Congrats Stephanie!
I'm changing my guess from November 4th to October 18. :)
Hi. Thanks a lot, Alex Watt, for explaining the "problem" I told you about on my last comment. I thought that if the interval was 16 or above, than you would memorize it on the next test if you rated it high enough. I must have been wrong.
I put James 4:13-16 in one of my previous comments on this post. That verse talks about why we shouldn't boast about tomorrow. Maybe I should try to remember that verse a little better!
I understand what you said about what happens when I rate verses that aren't due for review. I often did that, assuming that it would give me an advantage. So I guess, when it comes right down to it, this is probably my fault.
Thank you again - I appreciate it!
By the way, everyone, sorry if I seemed like a jerk when I joked that it might be evil boasting to guess an exact date. I was just kidding, but it may have seemed a little insolent. I've decided to jump on the bandwagon and scratch off as the odd man out. My guess is October 31st - Reformation Day! (If you don't know what that is, look it up - you'll learn doctrines you've never been taught before!)
I'm guessing October 31st!
I will go with October 18.
i will be changing my vote to Oct 21st
Can you have two guesses?
- 94 thousand and something verses memorized!
I guess November 3rd.
is there a cost for Gravatar?
Sydney - No, Gravatars are free. All you have to do is go to www.gravatar.com and sign up.
I think that we will have 100,000 verses memorized sometime in November, but I have no idea when, so I am guessing my birthday! (November 21)
I just got on Memverse today. I'm sooo excited! I LOVE it! Thanks, people who thought up Memverse!
EDIT--- Boohoo I lost by one month and one day.
Mommy's Helper, welcome to Memverse!! Glad you like it so far. I trust you will continue to have a great experience here. Why the sad face?
Jamie, I've got 2 guesses on the chart for you: Your original of Oct 30th, and your updated Oct 8th. You can change your latest guess as many times as you want.
I am guessing October 31st
PS thats my second guess
Congratulations Grace on memorizing our 95,000 verse. Wow only 5,000 more to go we should have it this moth easy. If everybody keeps up their memorizings Wow this is great Let's go guys !
Grace Mieczkowski has memorized verse 95000 on memverse! 5000 more to go!
0ops 40 seconds to late
What happened? I guessed Oct. 26th but it says I guessed the 28th!
how can you tell if a certain person memorizes our "______" verse?
When we reached 94K, I thought how neat it would be if I could memorize one of the remaining "thousandth" verses before 100K, but I didn't think it would actually happen! I didn't even do it on purpose, but after my memorization session, I decided to go to the home page to see if we were getting close to 95, and sure enough, we had passed it!
Rachel, if you go to the Home page, and look at the "memorized verses" counter on the left hand side, it tells you how many verses are classified as "Memorized" on Memverse. Then, if you click on "Recently on Memverse," the page will tell you who has memorized verses in the last few hours, with the most recent on top.
Oh, by the way, I am changing my guess to October 18th :)
Grace - That's cool; congratulations! I just updated the original blog post to include a "Countdown to 100,000" with the dates of each of the 1K accomplishments and the name of the memorizer.
Ian - I'm not sure what happened... I looked at it now and it looks correct. Maybe someone just fixed it or your eyes skipped over to the guesses for the 28th (it is right next to your guess for the 26th)...
I never knew you could click on that. Thanks!
Good Job, Grace on memorizing the 95000 verse here on memverse!!
My second guess for memorizing 100000 is October 19.
I predict October 25
Leal Christian, great to have you joining our guesses. Wonderful to see the excitement with the new "Latest Guesses" chart. I didn't originally want to abandon my first prediction, but then decided to join the crowd and am going with Oct 19th as my 2nd guess.
The "Countdown to 100,000" is helpful...I think my second guess will be October 17
I think October 9 - 11 look the best right now but I'm not changing my guess :)
Jamie, you are very brave to hold on to Oct 8th, with it approaching so soon.
October 30th is the only date that is full for original guesses.
On the latest guess chart, October 12, 17, 18, 20, 31 are full and cannot be joined unless someone leaves that date
To everyone who picks the right date on either the “Original Guess†or “Latest Guess†chart I will give one free Scripture Stickies pack of your choice. In addition, the first person to have picked the right date as their original guess will receive a free 6 month subscription to the “Scripture Stickies of the Month Clubâ€. Although I will feel a little bad if I actually win and claim my own prize, I do want to join the fun, so I will predict October 28 as the date Memverse hits 100,000 verses. :)
If you think you have a good prediction, feel free to start looking for your favorite Scripture Stickies pack now on my website, www.scripturestickies.com
To claim your prize, call me at 1-888-202-4007 or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org or mail me at 405 El Camino Real #434 Menlo Park, CA 94025 with your username and the address you want me to mail your Scripture Stickies to (also tell me which pack you chose and what version of the Bible you prefer). Alternatively, if you will be at the Bible Bee Finals in Nashville – and if 100,000 verses has been reached by then - you can pick up your prize in person at the Scripture Stickies booth.
Thank you and God bless!
I guess Oct. 24
Oh wow! I hope I guessed that right date!!!
this is interesting we are so close to 96K and nobody can find a verse to memorize :D
I agree, Simeon. If anyone wants to make one of the thousand-marks, now is your chance!:) (I would do it myself, but I haven't been on memverse long enough for any of my verses to be 'memorized'.)
jessica has memorized verse 96,000 on memverse! 4000 to go!!!
I think I was a bit off guessing November 3rd, so I will change my guess to October 15th.
Can I change my guess to October 19?
I don't think my guess will be right :( But, I have already changed my guess once, so I don't want to change it again,
Ok Let's end this. On December 31 at 11:59pm memverse will reach 100000 verses.
2remember - yes. I have a question. How can you be so sure? :D
First, 2remember, like Rachel said, how can you know? And second, I doubt it will take that long at the rate we're going. But I guess no one can really know until it happens...
Is it possible to change my date AGAIN? If so...please change my guess on the lastest guess chart to:
November 4rd, 2011.
If it's not fair just forget about it. :)
Yes, you can change your guess as many times as you want. Am I right in remembering that you are Rachel Crosswhite? I need to know which guess to delete. (If you are Rachel, you will be leaving one of the most popular guesses.)
@ Phil Walker.
Will you put me down for October 19?
Change mine to October 15th :) Thanks! We're almost there!
Mr Walker. Yes, I am Rachel :) Well...you don't have to change it. That date IS full :) Although in my mind Nov 4 seems like the more likely date, You can keep it. UNLESS You WANT me to change it :) That would be my third guess :D
THIS is not nice. We are ONLY 7 verses from memorizing #97,000!!! And I had 89 verses to review today I didn't memorize a SINGLE ONE!!!!!!! Oh well :)
ONE verse now!!!!!
CONGRATS TO LAURA FOR MEMORIZING #97,000!!!!!!
John 3:16 was the 97,000th verse to be memorized on Memverse! Congratulations Laura!
Oops! I guess I was reading it wrong. I am still on the 26th.
Only 3,000 verses more to go we should have this by the end of this week. This is GREAT ! Thank you Lord ! Let us press forward in the Lord's strength.
I was just looking at the latest guess chart, and I noticed that my name was put on October 15th (which was my second guess) but my name wasn't taken off of November 3rd.
Wow! We are really close to 100,000! I can't wait to give away these Scripture Stickies (www.scripturestickies.com) as prizes to the winners of the contest!! Thanks Phil for posting for me earlier- I was having some technical difficulties logging in here but now we are all set.
Julie, glad the technical situation got worked out and you are able to post. Thanks so much for offering the Scripture Stickies packs as prizes for those who guess the correct date. Very cool. It reminds me of when everyone loved these Scripture Stickies I bought for the Bible Bee camps, and at my school. Once I get established in Indonesia, I would like to look into the possibility of ordering some in Indonesian (same alphabet) or local dialects. I believe they would go over very big there.
Has everyone with a good prediction date been able to search the website for their favorite pack?
I'd like to update my latest guess. My original guess was Sept 25, but I had miscounted how many verses we had memorized. I'd like to guess Nov. 14th, just 'cause! :)
Yes Phil we could definitely do Scripture Stickies in Indonesian! We can offer many foreign languages and I am sure they would be well received. Custom Scripture Stickies are our favorite projects so just let us know ideas you have and we can make it happen!
I predict that we'll reach 100,000 on November 11th!
OK, I'm going to change my date to October 21st. Since, sadly, I don't think we'll have 100,000 memorized by tomorrow :) I guess I was a lot off on my first guess!
@Mr. Walker - How many times can we change our guess? Just wondering...
Mr. Walker will the making of guesses be prohibited, or made invalid at a certian verse; say 98,000th or 99,000th verse marker? not that it will change anything for me though. thanks
My guess is October 28th, the birthday of two of my sisters and one of my brothers - they are triplets, and they need to be saved, their names are Lizzie,David and Rachael - please pray for them.
Great to see so much action on the chart. Especially wonderful to have two new entries. Welcome, AstroLeah, and Joanne. Joanne, Jacky and I prayed for Lizzie, David, and Rachael today and will continue to pray for them as God brings them to our mind. Can I ask their age? Perhaps, if you win the contest and think they would enjoy them, you could look for the most appropriate pack of Scripture stickies they would like and give different verses to each of them, explaining that you won these by using their birthday in a contest.
Simeon, we will accept guesses up to 99,999. The only catch is that only 3 names can be on each date on each chart, so if the date someone wants to change to already has 3 names, they have to pick a different one. I also want to clarify that if anyone's date has passed they may guess again. By the way, there are a lot more openings on the original guess chart than on the Latest guess chart.
Julie, thanks for letting me know that Indonesian Scripture Stickies are possible. Very cool. It will probably be a couple months away before I am ready to order them, but I will keep you posted.
AstroLeah - If you go to your Account Profile and enter "AstroLeah" or something else as your "name", it should appear beside your comments.
Thank you for praying for Lizzie, David and Rachael. They will be 19 years old then. They are pagans but I would give them the scripture stickies anyway.
(This was Joanne - accidentally forgot to log out!) :)
Joanne - I will pray :)
If our latest guess is different from our original guess, but our original guess turns out to be right (or vice versa) does it still count? Would someone mind letting me know?
Alex Watt, thank you for letting me know about that!
My second guess is October 20th.
Kaitlyn Vredevoogd has memorized verse 98,000!!! 2000 to go!!!
Congratulations, Kaitlyn!! My second guess is October 23rd.
My new guess: October 22
October 23, please.
AstroLeah, you will win the prize if either of your guesses are correct. You don't lose your first guess by joining the latest guess chart.
If there is anyone out there who has still not picked a prediction date, Oct 24, 28, and 30 are the only full dates on the original prediction chart. ALL the others are still OPEN!!!!
On the latest guess chart, October 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 23, 28, 31 are full and cannot be joined unless someone leaves that date. All other dates are still open.
I am torn between my desire to see us hit 100K as soon as possible and my hope that I win the pack of Scripture Stickies with my Oct 19th guess (now that my optimistic Oct 13th is now impossible)
Looks like I won't be getting the grand prize for guessing correctly with my original guess. :) November fourth seems rather far away now... But maybe I'm right with my October eighteenth guess. :)
P.S. Great job, Kaitlyn Vredevoogd! I hope I can memorize one of the last two thousand...
Nicolas...you can change your guess again, you know :D And I'm with you on memoriing one of the last few verses! whoever does memorize 100000 will be a very special person! :D
I memorized 17 verses today!!!!! The most I've memorized in one day!!!!!!
I'd like to move my prediction a few days ahead... but can't because through the 21st is full. Oh well. I guess I won't get the grand prize. :P
I'd say the 20th looks most promising.
I have to agree with Matthew that Monday, October 17, now seems unlikely for reaching 100,000; but I do hope the milestone is reached by Thursday. :)
As Mr. Walker said, for those who have refrained from guessing till now, there are some nice options available in the Original Guess Chart.
I'm switching my guess to the 22nd of October. Thanks!
Gutsy move, SavedByGrace as I would say the 18th you left is possible. Josiah, I agree the 20th looks good, but is full for those making their Latest Guess. Your 21st as a original guess is very close to the 20th :)
I am now wishing I wouldn't have switched my guess. Oh well. can I switch once more? I won't any more after this :D I'm switching to....October 24th. I REALLY Am wishing I WOULD NOT have switched from the 20th to another :( oh well.
I had the privilege of memorizing the 99,000th verse about 40 minutes ago! I didn't have anything planned; I was just reviewing verses and didn't know the one I was rating as a "3" (2 Tim 2:21) had a high enough interval to be memorized. Good job to everyone for all your work memorizing! We're just 1,000 verses away now. :)
I see there are plenty of other active users this morning, and I guess I'm still holding out some hope that today might be the day, though it seems unlikely.
Will you memorize the 100,000th verse?
I think it will be October 19th.
I think it will be October 19th.
Oops I didnt realize 19th was full, I think it will be the 18th.
I think it will be the 18th of October
i didn't relize the 18th was open!!! I wanted that date!! :| oh well. if you want you can switch me :D
@Mr. Walker--I guess it's possible that we will reach 100,000 by tomorrow, but I kinda doubt it. :)
@Matthew Sinclair--Sorry, that spot was just taken by Ben Walley.
@Rachel Crosswhite--Looks like you got here a little late as well. But your guess isn't too bad. I guess we can't know who's right until we've gotten to 100,000. ;)
I would like to guess October 21st.
I want to guess the 21st of October.
My guess is October 22nd
For a while I was thinking that my October 30th guess was still remaining pretty accurate, but now it's looking like we'll get to 100,000 before then, so I'd like to change my guess to October 25th. I would place it earlier, but that's the earliest open date.
@Phil Walker: what does it mean Original Guess and Latest Guess? Is the Original Guess your first guess, and Latest Guess your second guess?
Yes, Elizabeth, you got it right. Except that the "Latest Guess" might be the 3rd or 4th guess someone made, not necessarily their 2nd. Do you have a prediction for when we hit 100,000?
Great to see 4 new predictions!! Thanks for joining us, Matthew, Rachelle, TigerJohnny, and Hannah. Anyone else out there want to sneak in a new prediction or change their current prediction? We are getting close!
Jesus-Paid-It-All, the 18th was open, but then Ben Walley snuck in just before you to take the last spot on the Latest Guess chart for Oct 18th.
Has everyone picked out the specific pack they hope to win from Scripture Stickies? If I win, I am going with the "Friendship" pack of Proverbs 18:24; Ecclesiastes 4:9-11; Proverbs 27:17; John 15:12-15; Philippians 2:3-4. What great passages! I can think of several new friends we are making here in the Philippines who I would like to share these with.
I don't think I'll win. I thought I was pretty accuract, but now I'm not :( Oh well, you NEVER know! I looked on the site and am still looking ;)
I see my name (Sydney Reed) listed twice in the Latest Guess Chart
99,683!!! ALMOST THERE!!!!! XD XD
Sorry about that, Sydney, I fixed it by removing your original guess off the Latest Guess chart.
We are getting close!!!!!
We are definitely hitting 100,000 today! We are at 99,942!
Hey, I'm going to guess (for my original guess) the 19th which is today!
20 to go!!!
Elisabeth, I would say your odds are pretty good. Have you checked out the Scripture Stickies?
WE DID ITTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We made it! Hallelujah and Soli Deo Gloria (Glory to God Alone)!
Nicolas memorized verse 100,000!!! Congratulations!
Who made 100,000?
I tried sooooooo hard to memorize the 100,000th! :) I did get the 100,001st! It was Matthew 5:8. For weeks I kept a bunch of verses that had a high interval, and put all other learning verses on Pending. Then, I watched the number while ready to click "5" on one of them. It was at 99,998, and I was ready for one more verse to be memorized. Then, it instantly went to 100,000!
Congrats to NathanV and Elisabeth Sinclair for guessing the 19th as their original guess!
So sorry, AstroLeah! I assumed there were others doing what I was doing, and I guess I could have let others try instead of myself. I was trying hard too, though... I waited about two hours in front of the computer. :D But congratulations for memorizing the next verse!
(And yes, congratulations to those who chose the right date first try!)
WE DID IT!!!!!!!!!
Oh, no, I missed it while driving in to work! Was hoping to watch it roll over ... I suspected there would be some unusual activity close to the 100K mark :)
I'm looking forward to when we hit 1,000,000 !
Nicolas / SavedByGrace - Well, you memorized it, so of course it counts! Good job! I had a feeling someone might try to do that. :)
Good job to everyone who guessed correctly!
Andy - Oh, that's too bad you missed it. As we were getting lunch ready, I saw we just had 15 verses to go. Then, right before lunch, I reloaded the page and saw we had hit 100K, but I hadn't checked to see who passed the mark. I'm also looking forward to 1M!
On current course and speed we are adding 100K memorized verses every 311 days or so. That would get us to 1M verses in 8 1/2 years. If we all convince a few friends to memorize alongside us it will go even quicker.
Congratulations, Saved By Grace, on memorizing the 100,000th verse here on Memverse :D :). And congratulations on all who guessed October 19 as the day we would reach 100,000 verses.
we have enough verses to have the bible memorized 3.22 times over!
Cogratulations Nicholas!!! what happened to the smiley face? it just has a box there that says 'smiley'
Congratulations, SavedByGrace!! (And to those who guessed right!) My guess for reaching 1M is August 21st, 2017. There will be a very rare total solar eclipse right across the United States on that day. We will have to tell more people about Memverse! :)
Yeah We did it! I'm sorry I missed it! I thought it was going to be tomorrow after last night's totals! Leah, I hope your teeth are feeling better, we have been praying for you! I didn't think of holding some off like that! You guys are too smart!
Alex Watt says:
We made it! Hallelujah and Soli Deo Gloria (Glory to God Alone)!
Alex do you speak Latin? Or did you watch on the Shoulders of Giants with Todd Friehl about the Reformers! I borrowed that from AstroLeah. My husband keeps watching it over and over!
I missed it too because I was taking a test today. But Congratulations SavedByGrace. This is very exciting !
@ Phil Walker: I haven't checked out the Scripture Stickies yet. Do I win some? What do I do?
No, I only know a little bit of Latin, but I would like to learn more of the language. But Soli Deo Gloria, as you noted, was from the time of the Reformation, and the "five solas" are still used and taught today. (Here is a Wikipedia article for anyone interested: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Five_solas.)
I haven't seen that video, but it looks interesting. We can learn much from Christian "Giants" who challenge us by lives truly centered on Jesus Christ.
Yes, 'On the shoulders of giants' is a great video. I always watch it just before I go out on a witnessing trip! It is available from Answers in Genesis. I highly recommend it to every Christian!
The 5 winners of the Scripture Stickies are: Carissa; Phil Walker; Sydney Reed; NathanV and Elisabeth Sinclair. We would love to hear from each of you which pack you want. You can then contact Julie personally through www.scripturestickies.com or by phone, email, or mail (see her note in the main blog post) to give her the address you want the Scripture Stickies sent to.
Another option is to visit Julie's booth at Nationals and pick up the Scripture Stickies in person there.
I am going with the "Friendship" pack in the 1984 NIV of Proverbs 18:24; Ecclesiastes 4:9-11; Proverbs 27:17; John 15:12-15; Philippians 2:3-4. What great passages! I can think of several new friends we are making here in the Philippines who I would like to share these with. What are the rest of you picking?
Thanks so much for doing this, Julie, and for using your Scripture Stickies ministry to encourage us at Memverse.
Special Congratulations to NathanV. As the first to pick Oct 19th as your original guess, in addition to the pack of your choice, you will receive a 6 month subscription to the "Scripture Stickies of the Month Club"
You've seen On The Shoulders Of Giants? Great! It's an amazing documentary about those who stood tall for the Christian faith, against persecution. Have you also seen anything from Living Waters? They have practically innumerable helps for witnessing to others, and Todd Friel is part of it. Their website is livingwaters.com. Also, Todd Friel has a radio show (and TV show if you pay a small monthly price for it) that airs for two hours every day, which is at wretchedradio.com (so called because he recognizes himself as "the wretch the song refers to" in Amazing Grace). They are all great helps for standing firm in your own faith and helping to share it with others. :) I strongly suggest these two websites.
(And again, great job to those who guessed the right date and those who made reaching 100,000 possible!)
Congratulations to everyone! What a great accomplishment that we reached 100,000 verses!! Scripture Stickies winners, definitely get in touch with me by email or phone so I can send you the Scripture Stickies for your prize! Or I can have it ready to give you in person at Nationals! :)
SavedByGrace- as the one who actually memorized the 100,000th verse- we would love to give you a free pack of Scripture Stickies as well. Check out the website www.scripturestickies.com and let me know which pack you want!
I stand corrected. We have 6 winners. Congratulations, SavedByGrace!!
I am curious what pack each of you will pick
Julie, please let me know if there is anything I should pay to cover extra shipping to the Philippines. You can send my NIV Friendship pack to Phil Walker c/o Pastor Juat 71 San Francisco St. Karuhatan, Valenzuela City 1441 Philippines. Thanks again!
Thanks, Julie Alvarez! I hadn't really even looked at the website, not thinking that I could win anything. But I think I'll just see your booth at Nationals. :)
Yay!!! Congrats, everyone!
Only 899,517, more to go till we reach 1M.
I guess April 2nd 2018 for the 1M date.
Ok Mr.Walker. I'd like to change my date to the 19th of October. Just kidding:-)
Congrats to the winners:-D
Now for 250000. Bring on the guesses:-)
I have a question about Memverse - are there any levels higher than 18?
Leah - At the moment, level 18 is the highest level implemented on Memverse, but many other levels have been planed and will be added over time. :)
Congratulations to all who guessed the right date, and also to Nicolas who memorized verse 100,000!
8 1/2 more years till we reach 1,000,000?! That's a long time off...I'll be 23. Don't you all think that we could memorize it a little faster than that? I just calculated that when we reach 1,000,000 verses memorized, that is like having the whole Bible being memorized 31 times over. Wow!
Congratulations Carissa; Mr. Walker; Sydney Reed; NathanV; Elisabeth Sinclair and SavedByGrace!! and everyone else!! :D
Another perspective on reaching 1,000,000 verses: In 2010 we memorized around 42,500 verses.
At the current rate, it looks like we will end 2011 with around 125,000, which would be 80,000 verses for 2011; having started the year at around 45,000.
This gives us a current exponential growth rate of 1.88. At this same exponential growth rate, we will memorize 150,000 verses in 2012 for a total of 275,00, then at the same rate, 280,000 in 2013 for a new total of 555,000; then 525,000 in 2014 with a new total of 1,080,000 with us hitting 1M somewhere near the end of October 2014. Wouldn't it be crazy if it happened right on Oct 19th again?!!
Personally, I say we shoot up the exponential growth rate several notches and, Lord willing, hit 1,000,000 verses memorized on Memverse by Dec 31st, 2012!!
On the other hand, I once thought and wrote that we would reach 10M verses in 2010 and obviously was very wrong!! So who knows? Maybe I am just being unrealistically overly optimistic again this time.
On the other hand, I was exactly right with my Oct 19th prediction for 100,000, so who knows, maybe I can be right twice in a row.
On the other hand, Oct 19th was my 2nd guess, so it might take 2 or 3 or more predictions before I get 1M right.
Either way, as we rejoice in God using memverse and more and more people discovering how fun and valuable memorizing God's precious Word on memverse can be, let's stay focused on our own personal love and passion for and obedience to God through His Word!! And let's pray for God to continue using memverse powerfully in our lives and in the lives of others that many of these 1K and later 1M verses can bear eternal fruit in lives around the world.
Lastly, as we have fun rejoicing in and predicting numbers, may we always remember and obey JAMES 4:13-17, acknowledging and rejoicing in the fact that our Almighty God can do whatever He wants with memverse, with our church culture, and in our own lives.
Thank you, Mrs. Alvarez, for the prizes and everyone else for the congratulations.
I decided to go for the Advent Scripture Stickies. Thanks again!
Mr. Walker, after reading your previous post, we're wondering how many hands you have since we last saw you. Of course, you did ask for your wife's hand in marriage, so I guess you do have more now.
Our family has started making shirts about Memverse! On the front they say 'Memverse: Bible Memory System'; and on the back they say 'I have memorized (blank space) Bible verses on Memverse.com - test me!' Then we made pin-on numbers that we change as we memorize more verses. They're really cool!
P.S. I just happened to memorize the 101,000th verse (just like with the 70,000th verse!) :)
I baked a cake for the One hundred thousandth verse.
It happened before my eyes!!!! My sister tried to memorize it.
On the Shoulders of giants is great! Did anyone here on Memverse go to Answers in Genesis' Apologetics Mega Conference this year? One of the speakers there also talked about the 'Five Solas'.
AstroLeah - that is awesome! Please can you send us a photo of you wearing the shirts ... it would be such fun to post them on the blog (if you're ok with that).
AstroLeah, I absolutely love the idea of your shirts. I would love to see them. Are you going to be at Nationals? Could you take orders for others who might want one?
NathanV, I love your pick of the advent stickies. What great verses from PROVERBS!!
I know and love Proverbs 1:7, 2:6, 3:5, 7:1; 10:12, 16:9, 16:24, 17:22, 18:10; 27:1; 28:13, 30:5
I am not familiar with Proverbs 11:30, 12:25, 15:29; 19:17; 20:29; 21:21; 23:12; 25:16; 25:21; 26:27; 27:19
Do you know any of the verses I don't? Do you have a favorite on the list?
Phil Walker, I know Proverbs 3:5, 16:24, 17:22, 18:10 and 28:13.
Shirts sound great!
glitter-graphics.com WE DID IT!!!
@JPIA or Rachel- Do you get those smiley faces at glitter-graphics.com?
GMOV - that one i did - be careful on that site too ;)
Well, its a very funny smiley face. And thank you, I will be careful on that
site if I go there. I'll be sure to get my parents permission. But where did you get the
other smiley faces?
We made the actual shirts with a company called Vistaprint, and then ironed numbers on squares of white fabric; although you might be able to find a better way to make the shirts. Unfortunately, we won't be able to come to the Nationals this year, but maybe we can get a picture of them to you soon! They are really neat, and they're a great way to tell people about Memverse. People ALWAYS ask you to recite verses! :)
Also, this weekend I will be going to a Stargazing Meeting at the Cincinnati Astronomical Society. All of the other astronomers are evolutionists, and I have been witnessing to them. Please pray for them, and also that I would have wisdom as I witness to them! :) Psalm 19:1
AstroLeah, thanks for the info on the shirts. I can't wait to see them.
I have decided to go with the Give Thanks stickies in the ESV. Thanks for this wonderful offer, Julie Alveraz. I will be picking them up at nationals if that is okay with you. Thanks again.
ONLY 10 MORE DAYS TILL NATIONALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm going to watch it online :D
Hey Carissa! I have your Give Thanks Scripture Stickies all ready to go- I look forward to meeting you at the Bible Bee! God bless!
Congratulations to Erika Wenzel for memorizing her 2000th verse!
I know I remember what I felt like when I had memorized my 2,000th verse. Way to Go and may the Lord bless you with many more.
Congratulations, Erika!! I look forward to seeing you and many others (including most if not all of the 40 members in SavedByGrace's "we plan to memorize at least 30,000 verses" group) pass me up on the Leaderboard and I and Jacky pray that God will use the Scripture powerfully in your life as you continue to love, trust, obey, serve, and worship the true Biblical God in the light of His Word!!! (and encourage and inspire others to do the same on or off Memverse!)
It's exciting to see the "Verses Memorized" number on the Memverse home page continue to go up! We just passed 120,000 about 25 minutes ago :) Praise the Lord for the ability and resources to treasure His Word in our hearts!
I just memorized the 122,000th verse on Memverse. :) I praise God for Memverse every day!
Congratulations, Laura! Good job :)
We're about to hit 150,000!!! Does anyone have a prediction for when we will memorize the 150,000th verse? I will predict April 10th.
I'll go for April 13th.
I think we'll reach 150,000 verses memorized by April 15.
I guess April 14th.
It would be easier to predict if I knew the average number of verses memorized per day; any guesses for that?
My guess would be April 11th :)
After careful study of the One Church progress chart, and a rough calculation of our daily average, I predict we'll reach 150,000 on April 12.
I think we will hit 150,000 on.......... April 12th :)
I'll go with 150,000 on April 14th.
I'll go with 150,000 on April 12.
we are only 53 verses from 150,000!!!!!!!
Phil Walker just memorized the 150,000th verse on Memverse, on 2012-04-12 01:28:08 UTC!!!!! (AstroLeah was just a few seconds after.) Congrats Phil and ALL of Memverse for getting to 150,000!!!!!
Yay! We just reached 150,000 verses! I tried to memorize it, but I just missed it and got the next one. :) Congratulations for memorizing it, Mr. Walker!
Cool stat, Matthew! And congratulations to Mr. Walker!!
Congratulations, Mr. Walker, on memorizing the 150,000th verse!
Congratulations Mr. Walker. Praise the Lord for allowing us to memorize 150,000 verses on Memverse !
Congratulations, Mr. Walker! That's really exciting!
Awesome! It was still 4-11 in my time zone, but does that mean my prediction of 4-12 was still technically correct? ;)
Thanks, Alex! Maybe you can edit this post and put the stat on it. I gave you the exact time because I saw you did the same with the 100,000th verse.
Living thousands of miles away from most of you and working on creating and/or stirring a passion for Scripture and knowing the true Biblical God here in Indonesia and in the Philippines; it gives me great joy to see so many of you memorizing the Bible. I pray that God will powerfully use His Word and His truth in your lives as you continue to serve and live for Him. Can't wait for some of you to someday join us here in Indonesia :)
At our current rate since we hit 100,000 on Oct 19th, we are memorizing about 105,000 a year. It would be neat to cross the 10,000 a month mark. Who do you know who loves Scripture who might want to memorize with us on Memverse? Or better yet, who do you know who loves Jesus, but does not yet connect Jesus with having a passion for His Word; whose life and Christian walk you can greatly enhance by introducing them to Memverse or simply sharing your passion for the Bible with them? And let's never forget, who do you know who does not yet love Jesus or His Word, whose eyes may be supernaturally opened by the power of God through His Word as you share His life-changing truth with them?
Are we going to start guessing when we will reach 200,000 verses?
EDIT: (A little while later) I performed some rough calculations and I'm guessing we'll get there on June 23-which also happens to be my dad's birthday.) :)
Jackie, I am curious what calculations you did? Sounds wonderfully optimistic, unless you have some ringers about to have a few thousand verses memorized. My most optimistic guess is August 17th on the Indonesian Independence Day. However, I hope you are right.
Well, I figured out how many verses we had memorized since April 12th, when we reached 150,000, and calculated how many days had passed since then. Then I divided the number of verses memorized since then by the number of days that had passed. I added that rough number to the date-June 11th-and came up with June 21st. Then I added a couple of days just to be safe. At the very least, we can shoot for this goal!
And on a side note, my family knows you from Camp Iriquoina. Do you remember the family with all the girls and almost no boys whatsoever?
EDIT: We could have had some REALLY good days in memorizing verses and some really slow days.....I suppose your guess is more reasonable. :)
Jackie, you again have me curious with your Camp Iroquoina comment. What year did your sisters meet me and at which of the camps (soccer camp, teen camp, family camp, winter retreats, etc.)? Will you be going to camp this summer. I didn't know anyone associated with the camp was on Memverse (other than Phil Landis the co-director of Boys Camp). How did you hear about Memverse?
I think you met our family some years ago at family camp. Do you by any chance remember the Irish family? I think one of my older sisters caught you with a memory verse she knew and you didn't.......
My mom found out about Memverse last summer, I believe. Me and two of my older sister have joined it, but she hasn't.
Most of my family will be going to family camp this year.
I remember that summer and remember the Irish family. Glad your family found out about Memverse. If you are still in touch with the Irish family, you should encourage them to join us here on Memverse. Glad you are still going to Family Camp. I live in Indonesia so will not be able to make it this year.
Actually, I am an Irish.... :)
The plot thickens... Sorry I didn't pick up on that with your earlier post. I thought you were saying you were friends of the Irish family. However, looking back, I should have been able to see that you were saying that you were one of the Irish family. I used to play chess quite a bit with your brother in boys camp and remember meeting more in the family at family camp. How old were you when I gave the Scripture challenges at Family camp several years ago? What number are you among the Irish children? Glad you and your older sisters are joining us. What is the latest update on your older siblings? Please tell your parents and older siblings I said "Hi"
I'm not sure how old I was when you gave the Scripture Challenges at Family Camp. I'm number 5 of 11. My two oldest siblings are in college and the oldest, second and third oldest have jobs near our house. The third oldest is graduating and the fourth oldest will be graduating after one or two more semesters of high school and will probably attend college.
And now we just memorized 175,000!!!!
We have memorized over 300,000 memory verses now! Congratulations, Memverse!!! :D
Thanks for creating this post. I'm guessing October 17 for the 100,000th verse memorized on Memverse. (Last year I was guessing it would happen November 19th - end of 2011 National Bible Bee - but I think that's a little too far now.) Any other predictions? It's exciting to see this milestone approaching!
