Live Bible Quizzes

The short version: Memverse will be hosting fun, live Bible quizzes twice a week:
- Wednesday at 9am (Pacific) / 12pm (Eastern)
- Saturday at 3pm (Pacific) / 6pm (Eastern)
Go to the Live Quiz page a few minutes before to participate.
Over the past few years we have hosted live quizzes on the material being covered for the annual Bible Bee. I know the contestants have enjoyed the quizzes and so we thought we would extend the fun to the entire Memverse community.
Each Wednesday we will host a short quiz of 25 questions covering general Bible knowledge. While there are many quizzes available on the web, we think there is room for a live, joyfully competitive quiz. All the questions will be multiple choice and will range from exceptionally easy to wickedly difficult. The quizzes will last about 15 minutes.
Everyone is welcome to join. Feel free to invite friends to participate. This is a great activity for the whole family.

Awesome! Will there be memory questions? Just curious because I went on to the Live page and it said that my version (ESV07) was not supported by the quiz. Will I have to change this before the quiz?
I can't wait! The bible bee quizzes were so much fun but we didn't do the bee this year so I didn't get to do them. This will be fun.

I missed it. I was in the middle of my Vocabulary lesson and totally lost track of time. :(

Rachel - I haven't heard from Mr. Walker in awhile, but think he is now in Indonesia (where STT Setia is).
Hi. Sorry to break the stay on topic rule I myself worked on enforcing a few months back in the pre-forum days of Memverse.
Yes, we live on campus here at STT Setia on the edge of Jakarta (20 minutes from the airport in case anyone is coming through) on the island of Java.
Jacky's family (mostly located in a small flood prone village in north Manila) is safe. Winds have been strong and created some damage, but nothing like the devastation on islands south of Manila. Jacky has emotionally been distraught as several of her friends she keeps in touch with from her Bible school and seminary days in the Philippines have families in the hardest hit areas.
Please continue to pray for the Philippines; for the church to be strong and loving; and for God to get the glory in the aftermath of the typhoon.
Can someone please forward this response to the forum page where Marie Morris first asked the question. Sorry for my lack of correspondance that can lead to people wondering about us. We will start a second time slot once we reach about 50 people taking the quiz each week. We also need a bit more time to build up our repository of questions.

Back on topic, how was the quiz Wednesday? I was unable to attend.
Jason, the quizzes are only live events at the moment. The questions are selected at random so there is no easy way to recreate them. Since there are already a lot of quizzes available on the web, we decided it isn't worth reinventing the wheel.
I'll be looking forward to another time slot. Especially if it fits the China timezone. : ) Thanks for putting these quizzes together!
I have not been able to attend these quizzes yet, but I will be hopefully tomorrow! :D
@ Matthew- ditto. I have either been busy or I have forgotten up until now. I sooooo want to do it. I shouldn't be busy tommorow
Justin - The quizzes have questions from all over the Bible. There's really no easy way to study, but it's hard not to have fun :)
I have a question - do you know how many people currently attend, on average? My schedule unfortunately is not going to fit with this quiz anymore, and so I am really looking forward to a second time slot.
The counter is a bit inaccurate - this week there were over 30 people. I'm hoping to start a Saturday quiz soon.
I really want to join in, but it is always at around 4 in the morning for us Aussies. If you start a Saturday quiz please please please put it at another time :)
I really want to join in, but I swim each week and we finish practice at about 7:00 which is about the time you start the quizzes because we live in Greece. If you do it on Saturdays, that will be fine because we swim in the morning from 10:00-11:30.
If you do make a quiz for Saturdays it would be really nice as i cant do it at that time any weekday. i do really want to join one. it sounds like FUN!!
Just joined my first quiz. Quite a few glitches, but a lot of fun. Not sure how many of these I can make at 11:00pm on Wednesdays or 5:00am on Sundays. However, I will try if I happen to be awake. Any chance these could be translated into Indonesian for our students here at STT Setia?
Sorry about the glitch during the quiz today. When we added the Saturday schedule we accidentally created an overlap this Wednesday which resulted in two quizzes running simultaneously, creating a lot of confusion!
I still can't join!!!!! The new Saturday one is midnight here Sunday morning and the other one is during my swim practice (7:00 pm Wednesday afternoon) . It would be fun to join one sometime though. maybe i can stay up till midnight on Saturday to join!!! : )
JSYK, I have about 10 quiz questions that have been in the approval queue for I think about two months.
Might be due to the more pressing need of BB quiz questions though...
It started few weeks ago. When I went into memverse from Firefox , sometimes I got a message that went something like virus, update your Firefox. But Firefox is already updated. Yesterday I checked most of the site that I go into from that PC, and I go into less than 10 site, and securi said that memverse is infected with blacklisted35. I'm posting it here because I can't find an email to send this to and I don't have a response from memvse's FB page yet.
@K Chen Have you tried another browser, such as Chrome? I just tried opening Memverse using Firefox and it worked fine. If the problem continues could you post the *exact* error message, or, even better, a screenshot?

This sounds like fun and a great way to learn more of God's word. If I am not able to participate at the time of the live quiz, will the quiz be available afterward for me (or others) to take at a more convenient time?
