Well it's a practice test, so you can definitely use your Bible. I looked up a bunch of questions with a Bible and lexicon. Just don't copy it or take screenshots.

Oh, bummer. :P Well I'm sure you'll still do fine, just study hard! By God's grace, I've qualified for Nationals for the past five years and Semi-Finals (barely) last year. =)

I have a few questions for all those who took the practice test last Saturday because I missed it! Was there one question per page? Anything else I should know about it that hasn't been mentioned?

Hi holly! There are ten questions per page and there will be a rerun on Saturday.

i decided to stop after about 70, and didn't do so great… figured it was better to study or do something else.

Question for you: I've been making a list of the CRs as I encounter them and then writing a phrase about them. It is a bit time consuming, and I'm wondering if it's worth the time. I don't have the SG printed out because we're in a hotel, and doing this makes me feel like I'm really accomplishing something. :P I feel like if I don't do it, I won't be able to review because I'll just be looking at empty blanks. So how much do CRs matter on the test?

I would totally recommend doing a lot of CR studying. Since the Study Guide is 90% CRs, CRs will play a big part on the test.

It's worth it :D Part of me wants to tell you just to study CRs ;) We're all expecting them to be on the test, and even if they aren't, you'll have a better understanding of the passage.

I started making a Quizlet set with the CR and it's main theme, but I have fallen really far behind, and I not sure I'm going to be able to memorize the themes of them all. CRs are something I have always struggled with in past years, and to be honest, I'm kinda overwhelmed. Any ideas or tips would be VERY helpful!

Hi all! Did anyone go to the webinar Wednesday? Was there anything really important on it? I missed it, but they posted it on our control panel, so I didn't know if there was something extra special about it.

You're not the only overwhelmed one. I'm in the same boat. ;) What I did last year and am doing this year is copying all the CR's by category into a word doc, then printing, reading/highlighting them and getting familiar with them/the references. I dunno if it's the best way but it's worked. =P

Last year, I memorized all the cross-references, however, there were only about a 1000 verses. I certainly didn't have them all word-perfect on the test day or anything, but because I had also made flashcards of the whole sword study and drilled, drilled, drilled, even if I had only done the preliminary memorizing, the flashcards helped me keep even the parts of the passages that weren't directly asked questions on in the sword study semi-fresh (some of the passages from Psalms were the only ones I noticed having trouble with on the test). However, I have heard that there are more this year.

I haven't yet met a person who's not overwhelmed with the amount of CRs. ;) Yes, there's definitely more than last year, but they're actually not too difficult to learn. If you look at most of them, the main points that relate to John can usually be compressed into a few sentences at most. That's all you need to know. You don't have to learn the context of each passage and every single little detail in it, although it doesn't hurt! What I do is copy and paste all the CRs into a word processing document and sort them by topic. Then I write down those key points and make it into a Quizlet set which I review 8+ times. Also, it's pretty hard to learn the references, but memorizing just the book and chapter should be enough.

So I was just wondering… How many of you are memorizing the 'early release national passages'?

Hi, Keirstin! I (sort of) already figured most of it out, I think :) it was the about the references to time in John 3. (yep, I'm still in John 3 XD) I think I got them all, but it was kind of confusing :)

Well I'm a little behind so I'm not quit sure. I'm busy like crazy for the next 2 days but starting Monday I am going to get caught up completely and study hard! Have you ever made it to nationals? ( love your avatar! So cute!)
