Did you guys see that Scripture Typer has verse cards for the nats verses? https://scripturetyper.com/biblebee/
Matthew Minica
Just in time for the official cards! xD xD
EDIT - Huh, now that's weird. They're one and the same!
Matthew Minica
Primary and Junior are mixed up xP
Matthew Minica
facepalm That writing is huge… 8 cards for Hebrews 10:19-39. O_o
They don't look like they're the same size as my other cards either. I'm going to have to do some scaling.
Ethan C.
Are the official cards out? :)
Matthew Minica
Yep! They're the same as the ones on ST for some reason. Check the website!
Emily H
Uh-huh. That is weird. Really weird. :P
Matthew Minica
^The way you said that almost sounds like you're kidding, but I don't understand why you would be… xP^

I dislike the format of the memory cards (I understand the bigger print, but why put only 2-3 verses on a card??), and so I may still be making my own…
2 Corinthians 5:17
These cards… O_o

How would you make your own? I think I may do that. There's two cards for 1 Tim. 6:17-19 xP

Sorry. I'm not. xP I guess I write similarly when I'm being really sarcastic as when I'm totally serious. :P :-/

Haha, I didn't think you were. Yeah, this is, like, the second time in two years that this has happened! xP

I have a template from previous years (I copied the format for the Nats cards). So far, I have passages that were on 68 cards in the official document into just 45 cards. xD
Matthew Minica
sigh I was hoping that since Scripture Typer seems to have produced the remaining memory cards, they would not have any errors; but that seems to not be the case… Acts 17:19-31 is missing three verses at the beginning!!
Matthew Minica
I never thought I'd see the day when a two-verse passage was on two cards. O_o
I don't think Esther 8:9 would even fit on one of those cards!! LOL!

I know, I couldn't believe it. xP Lol

Hi guys! Did any other KJV users notice that some passages that are on the list are missing in the cards? 1 Corinthians 15:50-58 is the only one I've noticed so far, but there may be others.
Matthew Minica
I noticed verses 19-21 missing from Acts 17:19-31… :\
K
I just noticed that too! I'm trying to make my own cards by copying the text from the official ones, but the official ones seem to have several mistakes.

Oh, wait, it does?? In the actual card? I didn't notice that yet…. =/

Yeah, I'm doing the same thing. They look like last year's. ;D

Haha! I should probably start checking it against my Bible, since we've seen that the cards aren't perfect. It's frustrating because in other years, the cards have been the final authority- we memorize what's on the cards. But this year, we have to check our Bibles, and there are very slight variations in the same version sometimes.

Okay wait, I feel like I'm missing something here. The cards are not the final authority this year???

I'm pretty sure there aren't actual mistakes, per se, just omissions. The cards were produced by the Scripture Typer system as far as I can tell.

Yes.

They are. At least they're supposed to be. There's nothing else to BE a final authority.
K
Well, they haven't said that, but if the cards have mistakes… see what I mean? If we go to Nationals and recite Acts 17:19-31 with three verses missing from the beginning, they'll probably mark that as wrong. What about the people who might not notice that and go to Nationals thinking they know the passage? (Or what if we say it with the three verses that were missing from the cards and they mark that as wrong?? JK! I don't think that's likely. :D)

Yeah…if you contact BB about this, please let me know! I'm kind of concerned now. =/
Matthew Minica
I already notified them about the Acts 17 mistake.
K
Oh, okay. That's nice to know.
2 Corinthians 5:17
In that case I would be at the appeals desk. :P We need to contact BB about this issue…

Will you let us know what they say, please? :)
Matthew Minica
Sure, although I have a feeling they're going to have to address this at the next webinar as well.

I just consolidated the cards so that the originally 386 cards for Seniors is now just 260! xD

Oooh, is there any way you can send that template to me? I'd really appreciate it if you could :)
@Katrina - I noticed that too. So far I've found Ephesians 2:8, 13, and 3:8 to be missing in the Junior cards.
Matthew Minica
At least on the Acts 17:19-31 mistake, they are going to get that fixed ASAP.

Alright, I'll send you the KJV cards in a .DOC file. (It's .DOC as opposed to DOCX because Word 2010 was running slow with the template, which I had originally created when I still had the 2003 version.) You'll have to do a little bit of copy-pasting for your version, but hopefully that won't be too big of a deal. :P
Matthew Minica
If anyone else wants the template I'd be happy to send it to them too!
2 Corinthians 5:17
Updates for the memory cards in the pre-release verses with mistakes are now available on the SG page.
Emily H
Would you please send me your cards? Thanks!

Hardest question ever: Which memory passage mentions a man with no earthly parents?
2 Corinthians 5:17
I know, I know! xD xP
Matthew Minica
Lol! I know too! For anyone who's heard the joke before it's not so hard. xP (I immediately thought of Hebrews 6:19-7:21 but then realized hey, that was last year. :P)
