Ah, I should've thought of suggesting that. That would be a good thing to use if you can't use Google Translate like Aidan B.

Thanks, I'll check it out.
EDIT: Oh, sorry, I have Microsoft Word 1997, and it doesn't have a translate option :(

(Translation: I also speak Spanish. I have verses in several [three] languages that I memorize on Memverse; if I have already learned a verse in English without Memverse, I will often try to learn it here in Spanish!)

¿Cuánto tiempo has estado en memverse? ¿Hace Biblia abeja? Si es así, ¿lo hacen para Nacional

I don't want to have to take the time to write this all out in Spanish (or show my lack of skill in it by using Google Translate again!), so I'll just answer your questions on my normal account (by the way, did you already know I was SavedByGrace?) and in English. First, I'd like to say that I understood most of what you said in your comment! But I had to use Google Translate for quite a bit of it again…

Anyway, I do not speak Spanish fluently at all–I'd have to take quite a bit of time to think through what I say before I say it, and even then it would be pretty rough. I have been on Memverse for a little over a year. I do not play any instruments (and, believe it or not, I have little desire to). I have a little over a thousand verses supposedly memorized on Memverse (on this account–on my Spanish account I have only eleven memorized), and I have done the Bible Bee for four years. And yes, I made it to Nationals this year, by God's grace. :)

By the way, I think when you asked how many verses I have memorized on Memverse, you meant to put "has", not "han." Remember the infinitive conjugations! :)

RANDOM! Lo estoy comiendo el desayuno ahora! jeje :)

(Before I start, I have to admit to using "el traductor de google" for much of this…)

Matthew and I take Spanish from our pastor's wife (a native of El Salvador).

Blanca como la nieve,
negra como la pez
habla sin tener boca
y anda sin tener pies.

Anyone understand?

Cual es la respuesta a su acertijo? Por favor, digame!

Courtney M.

Sarah, I'm really glad your on Memverse now! You said, I speak a little bit of Spanish. I use Rosetta Stone. (By the way, I used to use that, and I love it!) What is the answer to your riddle? Please, tell me!

The translation of my riddle is supposed to say,

That way
come two
One gets wet
the other doesn't

It's supposed to be talking about a man with an umbrella.

No, it's a house. You know, the door is the mouth, the windows are the eyes, and some have stilts? (Legs)

Sopla sin alas,
silba sin boca.
Tu no lo ves,
ni lo tocas.

Oh, come on! A house doesn't make as much sense as a dead bird! :)
I'll get this one right though.

blows without (i don't know) wings or breath
whistles without mouth
you do not see it
nor touch it

Is it wind?
Did I translate it right?

Sarah Johnston

Yes! I can't believe I got one right!
Okay, I think I need translation on this one. I don't know what 'bane' means. Don't tell me the answer though! :)

They didn't actually go together. Cheap is expensive - it goes along with a picture of a cheap car having to be pushed up a big hill. Mr. Money is a powerful knight - it is talking about today's society. Money rules everything! :-(

Here's a cute childrens's story I read once:

Once there were three white mice on a sheet of paper. The cat could not find them.
One day, while the cat slept, the mice were three jars of paint: one red, one yellow and one blue. They thought it was paint-shirts. And jumped head. One turned red, one yellow and one blue.
Puddles dripped paint on paper. Puddles seemed funny. The red shirts got into the yellow puddle and danced. Ruffled yellow puddle with red feet until … "Look! 'Cry." Red Pies in a puddle yellow make orange! "Mouse yellow to blue puddle jump. Their feet mixed and stirred, stirred and mixed until …" Look, "said the red shirts and the blue shirts. "yellow feet in a puddle blue make green." Then the blue shirts to red puddle jump. splash, mix, and dance until … "purple!" they shouted. "Feet in a pool blue make purple red ! "
The paint on the skin had got sticky and hard. So to be bathed in a soft white and pretty and instead painted paper. They painted some red and some yellow and some blue. Mixed red and yellow paint some orange, yellow and blue paint some green, red and blue and some purple paint, but left something blank, because the cat.

I love it! I did use google translator for this! :)

OK, here is the translation. You actually did great, though!

Once there were three white mouse on a white sheet of paper. The cat couldn't find them.
One day, when the cat was sleeping, the mice saw three jars of paint: one red, one yellow, and one blue. They thought it was mouse paint. They climbed right in. Then one was red, one was yellow and one was blue.
They dripped puddles of paint onto the paper. The puddles looked fun. The red mouse stepped into a yellow puddle and did a little dance. His red feet stirred the yellow puddle until… "Look!", he cried. "Red feet in a yellow puddle make orange!"
The yellow mouse jumped into a blue puddle. His feet mixed and stirred, stirred and mixed until… "Look down!", the red mouse and the blue mouse cried. "Yellow feet in a blue puddle make green!"
Then the blue mouse jumped into a red puddle. He splashed and mixed and danced until… "Purple!" they shouted. "Blue feet in a red puddle make purple!"
But the paint on their fur got sticky and stiff. So they washed themselves down to a nice soft white.. and painted the paper instead. They painted one part red and one part yellow and one part blue. And they mixed red and yellow paint to paint a part orange, yellow and blue to paint some of it green, and red and blue to paint purple. But the left some white, because of the cat.

Don't mind using google translate for some things. I use my dictionary A LOT! :-)
