I haven't read the American History Stories or Confessions by St. Augustine. But I have read the Holy War. It was really good.
biblebee
Thanks for telling me. I'll have to check it out.
Dani(elle)
That sounds interesting!
Ruth Smith
I just finished reading The Big Picture by Dr. Ben Carson. It was a really good book that emphasized the need to see things from God's perspective. (BTW for those who don't know, Dr. Carson is the worlds most amazing brain surgeon who is retiring this year. He recently gave an excellent speech at the National Prayer Breakfast in D.C. Check it out here: http://m.youtube.com/#/watch?v=PFb6NU1giRA&desktop_uri=%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DPFb6NU1giRA)

Notice how the president never laughs at the funny things he says, and he just looks down at his plate for a lot of it… ;)

Who here has read the Kingdom Series? I started reading the first book yesterday. I SSOO like it. I would have finished it but I restrained myself :D
Dani(elle)
I think, are those the ones by Chuck Black?
God's Maiden of Virtue
I love the Kingdom Series! I (finally) read them for the first time a month or so ago, and I liked them so much that I started them over! It is such a great series! :-)

God's Maiden of Virtue
I kind of went into the books feeling the same way- and I too, saw how wrong I was! :-)
Dani(elle)
I read the first 2, years ago and never felt the need to read the rest because the second one is so conclusive! It was so sad when Tess had to go away though! :'(

I just thought of another series of books that I really like. The series is "You Choose". They are about different events or groups of people in history and you get to choose different paths to stay and you see if YOU survive or not. They are really neat books :D
2 Corinthians 5:17
So if you choose to go one way then do you have to read a different chapter or something?
biblebee
You decide something and then you turn to a specific page. And then after that path ends you can try different paths. So you will read a page and it gives you three/two different choices and you choose one.
Dani(elle)
Is one of hose about a swimmer and it's called 'making waves' and u choose wether or not to do drugs?? Lol
Dani(elle)
Ok that looks really bad……
biblebee
Um…no. They are about knights, ninjas, great depression, civil war, etc..
Dani(elle)
Oh, ok!! Lol :) sorry!
SavedByGrace
We have one of those about the Titanic. As you can imagine, most of the endings end in death…
Dani(elle)
Yeah that would be depressing.
Nathan Wright: Impersonator Hunter
A LOST PEARLE and COURAGEOUS are my two favorite novels.
His Servant
Who was the author of "A Lost Pearle", OCTSRIS?

I've read most of that…. good book!
God's Maiden of Virtue
I just recently bought, and started reading Communion With God by John Owen. The book talks about having fellowship with the Father and the Son – and best of all, has verses from 1 John all throughout it! It was perfect timing!
Priscilla K.
You want to be motivated? Read Daniel Staddon's book The 100,000 word. It's really good. I also enjoy reading the North Wood's Adventures by Lois Walford Johnson. And the Frencolian Chronicles by Carolyn Ann Aish. The Teenage years of Jesus Christ, by Jerry Ross. That last one I mentioned is a lot like Do Hard Things. It explains how when Jesus was a "Teenager," He wasn't doing the easy inmature things that are often associated with being a teenager. The Hidden Hand, (a lamplighter book.) I could go on and on with both fiction and non-fiction that I love to read.

I've read some of the YouChoose books! Has anybody read the Passages books?
BibleBeeJunior14 (~*Lady Ariana*~)
I highly recommend "Do Hard Things" by Alex and Brett Harris, and the sequel, "Start Here." They are GREAT books for inspiring teenagers to act their age--like adults! Their website is therebelution.com; if you are a teenager, you've got to read those books!! :)
I LOVE THOSE BOOKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Those are AMAZING!! I have "Do Hard Things". Also, Zach Hunter's books "Be the Change" "Lose Your Cool" and "Generation Change" are awesome. Actually, I've only read "Be the Change" but I know the others are good too.
I like:
The Knights of Arrethtrae Series
The Kingdom Series - Chuck Black
Promise of Zion Series - Robert Elmer
The Young Underground Series (Robert Elmer)
The Passages Series - Paul McCusker
Orphan Trains Trilogy - Al and JoAnna Lacy
Hiruko Kagetane
The Halo books are good, if you like Sci-Fi.
If you enjoy comic books, the Batman Incorporated series just finished their biggest story arc so far, paving the way for an even bigger one that they're hinting at, as did the Dark Knight series. The Halo comics also started a new series, and the TMNT comics have had a complete relaunch, with some surprising turn-arounds.
Sorry, I'm in geek mode today.

BREAKING NEWS! It's...ah...nobody important. nevermind.
Huckleberry Finn, Tom Sawyer, Captain's Courageous, Treasure Island.
biblebee
What's Captain's Courageous about? And I SO like Treasure Island!
Hiruko Kagetane
The Halo books, if you like aliens and the military and sci-fi.
biblebee
Ummm…actually I don't really like aliens, or sci-fi. Military stuff is fine though.
SavedByGrace
The first books I want done for good after Nationals is the LOTR books! I've been meaning to read those for years, and I'm partway through, but I'm still not done. Once I finish those, I've got plenty of options for big theological books that I want to read… :)
biblebee
Yeah…I have plenty of theological books as well…
Sarah B.
"The Spirit Flyer Series" by John Bibee! Great books! :)
2 Corinthians 5:17
I have a short list of books that I like on my introduce yourself page :) I could give you some other suggestions if you like :)
biblebee
Okay…I'll have to go and check them out :)
