Ever read “The Scarlet Pimpernel” by Baroness Emmuska Orczy?!!! There are lots of books in that series, some that I haven’t even been able to get a hold of.

The movie is okay… but not as good as the books (of course). In the movie they made it a mix three of the books so the whole story was…different.
(I might warn you, the girl's dresses in the movie aren’t very modest. At least not according to my standards.)

Okay. Thanks for letting me know. I'll have to read the books after nationals. I don't know if I'll watch the movie though. And yes, normally the movies are completely different than the books.
Okay, thanks for warning me.

Of course, I may not have much to say but…haven’t you heard me laughing? :D

@F(x): have you read “The Elusive Pimpernel” “El Dorado” or “The League of the Scarlet Pimpernel”?

The #1 book I would recommend to you is the Bible.
For young girls I would recommend the Lamplighter books Amy and Her Brothers, Jessica's First Prayer, A Peep Behind the Scenes, Basket of Flowers, and Helen's Temper.
For teenagers I would recommend the Lamplighter book The Hidden Hand.

I know but Nathan likes it. And Caleb likes it. And I think it would be good for a teenager, it's soo funny. Especially girl teenagers.

shudders I actually like a book that Sam likes shudders again I think that his "injecting" me with "Sam instinct" is starting to take effect. And to quote Eddie in JP "Now that's a scary thought!". :) JK :) I just finished reading "The Scarlet Pimpernel". WOW!! I REALLY liked it! It's an AWESOME book!!

I like The Scarlet Pimpernel too. :)

For those who like C.S. Lewis, I'd recommend his Space Trilogy. It's kind of like a cross between the chronicles of narnia and his theological books. More philosophical that CoN but with a story line…anyway, I really enjoyed it.

The Scarlet Pimpernel was great! Are you going to read the others? I've read The Scarlet Pimpernel, The Elusive Pimpernel, El Dorado, Lord Tony's Wife, I Will Repay, and The League of the Scarlet Pimpernel.

The Space Trilogy was pretty good. I had a little bit of trouble understanding it at times, but it was still a good read. :)

@Hannah: Yes, the book is really good!!! :)
@Courtney: Here's what the back of the book says: France, 1792. It is the height of the French Revolution. The country is gripped by revolutionary fever and the evil Head of Secret Police, Chauvelin, keeps the guillotines busy executing innocent peasants, aristocrats and priests. Only the mysterious stranger known as the Scarlet Pimpernel constantly foils Chauvelin's plans with his heroic missions to save innocent lives.
@ISC: I didn't know there were more but yes, I'm definitely going to have look into those.

I have read all of those, and really enjoyed them.

Probably someone has already recommended this book, but I am really enjoying "Mere Christianity" by C.S. Lewis.

Yeah, there are even more that I haven't read, but I'm sure they're all good! Unless they're all like "I Will Repay"… (That one was a bit boring.)

Has anyone read Mark Twain's "To Tame a Bicycle" or A. A. Milne's "The Ugly Duckling"?
I laughed more reading these two short stories (actually, "The Ugly Duckling" is a play, but it is still short) than most 300+ page books that I have read.

Yea I have that book. Interesting story, though I did think that it could have been stronger on the theology, as long as they were on certain subjects.
Earlier, I was thinking ^hey isn't that the Navy Seals' trident on Drew's avatar.^ now I think see why.

His Servant

Has anyone done/heard of the Paul Washer workbooks on "The Truth of Man" and "The One True God"? I've done "The One True God" and thought it was really good. Well, I'm excited, because he's making a new one about the Gospel! so excited

If you're into medieval type stuff, I would suggest "Annabeth's War" by my friend, Jessica Greyson.

Look it up! I love it! :)
