Absolutely not! Skillet's new album is an abomination, for it copies the style of limpwristed nancies like chris tomlim and colton dixon and whoever else is out there.

Their only good albums (NOT SONGS, they have many great songs) are collide, Awake, and comatose! only about half, but they are awesome!

"What I Believe" has good words...main reason why I like it. Hero's okay though.

Hero is not okay. Hero is AWESOME! anyway, ive kinda stopped listening to Skillet, just on rare occasions. I still like it, but it's music in harmony with conflict. I still LOVE it, but I'm not fighting supervillains at the moment, so therefore I listen to sad music. and besides Imagine Dragons has no equal…they are so awesome!

forgive me, but that statement is utterly irrational. if a christian makes a light bulb that light bulb is not automatically better than a secular made light bulb. Same goes for paper. And books. and music.

Sorry, I worded that wrong. I am not meaning to say that all Christian music is better; but in a lot of ways, it is. Not because of the music itself, necessarily, but because of the lyrics/meaning of the song (if done the right way - i.e. not shallow, pointless, etc.). And I agree about the light bulb, paper, and books (books - meh, sorta). Obviously, there isn't a difference between how a Christian or non-Christian makes a light bulb, but there can be a major difference between secular and Christian music (if the Christian music really is Christian).

Korean pop music, essentially. ;) Almost always in the Korean language. And usually similar in sound to what we would call electronica, EDM (Electronic Dance Music), and just straight-up pop music.

Okay, so what exactly is KPOP?

A better definition would be "popular Korean music". That is a broad overview of all the different styles, as KPOP covers pop to hip-hop to rap to rock to jazz and R&B. It depends on the artist, and the song.

My 5-year-old sister came behind me and started just singing Shoulders by For King and Country as loud as she could, implicitly begging for me to play it. I think she might just like that song just like her big brother. xD

My church's music leader and his wife are working on a new CD! I think it's called the Romans Project. http://www.psallos.com/

My music leader, Cody Curtis, finished his CD! They are hoping that it will be a way to minister to others. I have really enjoyed listening to it. You can listen to some of it here: https://psallos.bandcamp.com
Some of my favorites are 5, 6, 14, and 20.

That's great that You can sing in different keys, for me it's easier to sing in an A or a D chord. If a song isn't in that chord, I usually just change it.

I'm interested in hearing people's thoughts on Jonathan Thulin's latest song called "The Theory".

It reminds me of what I've seen from Phil Vischer in "What's In the Bible", as well as a recent edition of "Taking a Minute" with Jason Anderson. Although I don't think what Thulin sings is necessarily wrong, it does seem to be a compromise, which is already unfortunately all too common in Christian society today. He seems to be saying that if you have the most important thing right, nothing else matters…

So, 20 the Countdown Magazine just did a special show counting down Chris Tomlin's best praise and worship songs so far (either performed and/or (co-)written by him). Seeing as Chris is a favorite of mine, I was quite interested. So here's the list.

  1. At the Cross (Love Ran Red)
  2. Because He Lives (Amen)
  3. Even So Come
  4. Jesus Loves Me
  5. Amazing Grace (My Chains Are Gone)
  6. God and God Alone
  7. Good Good Father
  8. How Great Is Our God
  9. I Stand Amazed (How Marvelous)
  10. Our God
  11. Shout Hosanna
  12. Whom Shall I Fear (God of Angel Armies)
  13. Crown Him (Majesty)
  14. Lord I Need You
  15. Lay Me Down
  16. The Wonderful Cross
  17. I Will Follow
  18. Sing, Sing, Sing
  19. Holy Is the Lord
  20. Forever

Well, what do you think? Accurate? No?
I had a few thoughts; first, there's a few songs that are quite glaringly missing. Where is I Lift My Hands, We Fall Down, Jesus Messiah, and I Will Rise (my personal favorite by him)? Seems like all of those should have been shoe-ins. And there's several other songs I can think of that I would have thought would probably make it into a top 20 chart.
Second, why so many newer songs? The majority of these "top 20" were just released in the past 3-5 years. The top 4 are all less than two years old! I had not even heard of at least two of these songs before, they are so new. Chris has many awesome older songs (Wonderful Maker, Enough, Famous One, to name a few) that I think (maybe it's just me) are probably much better-known than, say, God and God Alone (the newest song on the chart, only released earlier this year as far as I can tell).
Finally, maybe it's just me again, but I would have expected How Great Is Our God, Whom Shall I Fear, and Our God to be much higher than they actually were on the chart. In fact, I fully expected How Great Is Our God to be #1; that At the Cross took that spot was a real surprise.
I guess to fully cover Chris's best songs probably would have wanted a top 30 or 40 chart. =P

If nobody replies to (or reads xP) this, I don't mind; just wanted to voice my opinion. xP
