Injuries!

It was indescribable :D :D It was even better because my Dad had been there 2 years previous, and "knew his way around" :DI made several new friends through some contacts we had made when my Dad went there earlier :)

We went all over! :D From about Auckland on the North Island, drove down and crossed to the South Island on the ferry, and drove down the South Island to about Christchurch, if I remember correctly. :)

When sawing through hollow cottonwood logs, watch out for hornets, even if you are wearing gloves…like me, finger swelled up, but now its all great.

Hm. That sounds similar to what happened to this one girl in our church, she was riding her bike, and she ran over a bee's nest. Let's just say, she didn't find the situation very enjoyable.

I'm not sure if you would call this an injury or not, but yesterday I was snapping Green beans, and I accidentally jammed my thumb nail into one. That doesn't really sound painful, but whenever I push on my nail etc, it kind of hurts - all because of a Green bean! :P

EDIT: My thumbnails are always really short too (because I play the piano and like to keep them short…not because I bite them, just sayin'..I get that question a lot. :P) Anyway…there's nowhere for anything that gets jammed in there to go so it usually hurts quite bad. :(

I was adjusting the weights on a weight-lifting machine and had about 10-15 lbs slam down on my pinkie! That hurts. Plus, I was only about 10 when it happened. My fingernail was really weird for about three years, at least. That's probably the worst injury I've ever had, though. (except for having teeth pulled and skinning my knees - good stuff like that :P)

I chewed on my 5th toe on both feet so now my toe nail is messed up and both feet are bent weird forever

Just bite on your toe nail and suck on it (when I was a baby i did not like putting my thumb in my mouth but I loved sucking on my toe)

When Daddy built our new bunk bed, the ceiling fan extended over it a little bit, and we had it on high. The very first morning, I sat up to my alarm at 6:00 am and it hit me square in the forehead. Nobody else was awake, so I had to stop the bloodflow and bandage it myself. The fan blade was twisted a bit out of shape (my sister teased me about my hard head), and needless to say, we never ran that ceiling fan again. :-P

:) Christian sleeps on the top bunk, but he's far enough away from the fan that it can't hit him. ;)

That's good. We justrecently changed our fan because it was a really low fan that to get onto the top bunk you had to slither along under it like a snake. facedesk

It’s scary to be in a remote country where there are no hospital and all your parents can do is pray you didn’t die during the night… all you want to do is go to sleep but mom won’t let you because you “might not come back.” I’m glad I didn’t bleed when I got my head smashed… or I wouldn’t be here today.

I’m not the most inauspicious child in the family though… my brother has had 22 stitches! (Not all at ones though. Thank Goodness!)
