That is an interesting choice. I hadn't even thought about that as being a subject since we don't use it as a subject at our house but it is still a subject.

Emily- Wow! I wasn't sure that a lot of people really liked History as much as I do. What don't you like about Math? For me, it is mostly just fractions. Oh, and I was wondering, which do you like better (or which is easier), multipication or division?
Rachel (JPIA)- I never considered music a school subject, but if I did, I would have a hard time choosing between them as well.

Do you want me to wait for a answer with just ne subject or do you want me to give each of those half a point? Wow! History is popular.

I'm doing well; in my memory verses, I'm almost a week ahead of the schedule (which is nice, because I'd like to have a week or two to review). In my Sword Study, I am on track; I did have to catch up a little though. How about you?

I am on track with my Sword Study and have had all the passages at least prety well memorized for about a month and am working on memorizing the greek words and their meanings. I am doing pretty well with that.

Going well! I haven't done the Chapter 3 Diagram yet though. I'll do it shortly though. :) I also have four cards that give me troubles…. three of them are much better now, but oh my! that Hebrews verse is hard!!! :P

Yeah, I was surprised to see how many people liked History as well! But I enjoy it a lot. Have you ever watched Drive Thru History, or listened to David Barton? Do you like to read Historical Fiction (or Non-Fiction) books?
As for Math, well, mostly it's just the Math part I don't like :P but one of my least favorite things is algebra, I don't exactly care for fractions either. :) Um….I never really thought about if I liked multiplication or division better. I guess maybe multiplication. Neither seem that hard though. Which do you like better? What kind of Math do you use? I have Saxon.
I also love Music and Reading, but I think History is still my favorite, and besides, you usually read history! :)

No, I haven't watched Drive Thru History before. I should ask my dad if he has heard of it or watched it.
Actually, I don't usually like that many historical fiction (or non-fiction) books (even though I really enjoy History). But recently, I read a (Christian) historical fiction book for school, and I REALLY liked it! Its called A Father's Promise by Donnalynn Hess. Its theme verse is one of my favorite verses (Psalm 91:1).
I like division; it has just always been easier for me.
We use Bob Jones for all of our school subjects from 3rd grade on up.

I have watched Drive Thru History Greece & Rome.

I really like Historical Fiction! Some of my favorite books (historical fiction ones) are:
The Wildflowers of Terezin by Robert Elmer
The Pillar of Fire by Rev. J. H. Ingraham
Titus: A Comrade of the Cross by Florence Kingsley
Stephen: A Soldier of the Cross by Florence Kingsley
Paul: A Herald of the Cross by Florence Kingsley

I like history books, too! I've read Marco Polo's book, and am currently reading Antiquities of the Jews by Flavius Josephus.

@Rosie: Lamplighter published it this year; I got it at the home-school convention. (Along with 3 other books they publish. :P) The book is primarily about Paul, of course, but there is a lot about the rise and fall of Roman authorities (including Tiberius, Caius, Claudius, Nero, the two Agrippas, Felix, etc.). And this time there aren't several chapters after the main character's death!

Have you read The Cross Triumphant? I own it, I just haven't gotten around to reading it.

@Isaac Hanna: My favorite school subject is history.

@ISC and Rosie, Oh! I love Titus: A Comrade of the Cross and Stephen: A Soldier of the Cross! I haven't read Paul: A Herald of the Cross yet, but I did read The Cross Triumphant, and it was really good! Have you read a lot of the Lamplighter books? Have you read Joel: A Boy of Galilee?

I really like Drive Thru History. Except for some parts… I've seen the Greece, Rome, Turkey, Asia Minor and the America Drive Thru History DVDs. And one time I saw part of a Israel episode on TV.

We've read parts of Josephus (I'm assuming it's the same book you were talking about…but I'm not sure), and it was really interesting. I might read all of it some day…

My family actually doesn't own any of them, we just borrow them from other people. I have heard of Joel: A Boy of Galilee, but I have not read it. One of my favorites out of the ones I have read is Mary Jones and her Bible.

@Emily Hamilton: I just finished The Cross Triumphant about an hour ago. (Having started it about 23 hours ago.) I've read and own fourteen books published by Lamplighter, (and three others they published, but I acquired them elsewhere). I have not read Joel, but I would like to.

@Rosie: You can borrow some of my family's (or at least mine) if you want… I could give you a list…

That would be nice. I really enjoy reading Lamplighter books (and listening to them). I'm close to finishing Christie's Old Organ; a family that we know let me borrow it.

@Rosie: The books I have are:

Sir Knight of the Splendid Way
The Unexpected Guest
Buried in the Snow
The Pillar of Fire
Titus: A Comrade of the Cross
Stephen: A Soldier of the Cross
Paul: A Herald of the Cross
The Cross Triumphant
The Forester's Daughter
Wälty and the Great Geyer
The Grinder's Apprentice
The Brave Heart
The Little Dauphin
The Parable of the Two Millstones

Maybe I should just bring Paul to prayer meeting tomorrow?

Rosie - Joel: a Boy of Galilee is pretty good. I like Florence Kingsley's style better though. Have you read Glaucia, the Greek Slave by Emma Leslie? It is really good too. I read Mary Jones and Her Bible a very long time ago…I'll have to read it again so I'll remember it! :P

ISC - Whoa-ho! You must read fast! Did you like it? I'll have to read Paul, A Herald of the Cross soon. It sounds really good! Are you on the Lamplighter Book Club? We have been collecting Lamplighters for years, so we own all but about six, I think. I hope to read all of them in the next few years. Have you ever looked at the damaged Lamplighter books?

@Rosie: If it is so funny, maybe I should do it! I guess I'll have to bring it on Sunday.

@Emily Hamilton: I did read it fast - and ended up rather dizzy. I think I liked it. I am not on the Lamplighter book club.

Congratulations, Jackie Chase! Keep memorizing!

Spelling has been easy for me too. Our family takes these tests called Iowa Tests at the end of each school year. And this year, I got a 13+ in Spelling (13+ means you got everything correct)!

I read Mary Jones and Her Bible yesterday - it was very good!

You won't have to decide that - I decided that you don't have to pay me. Will you be at the quiz in 2 hours and 56 minutes? (I already am there…)

Primary Test 1 is finished and we are just waiting on Alex to put it up. Junior Test 1 and Senior Test 3 are waiting on their proofers. I'm not sure about the rest.
