Really? That's an odd looking firework.
His Servant
What do y'all like doing in the vehicle while on long road trips?
Dani(elle)

Reading, listening to audio books (or Jonathan Park:), playing word games, having crazy conversations with my family, daydreaming, looking out the window, taking pictures, the list goes on…. :D

Singing random songs with everyone, listening to music… having a ton of fun!
Actually, for most of our long road trips, Bethany and I sit in the back row and have really long conversations about all kinds of theological and moral issues… it's quite stimulating actually!

We play games like slug bug, or sprinter, or we will count the license plates from a certain state, or if its night, we'll play the one eyed car game. I sometimes read, ( depending on the road) we sleep alot, talk an awful lot, about everything. I especially enjoy when it gets really late at night, and we start getting goofy, and then the conversations get very funny:) We also love listening to music, and sermon messages. And also enjoy searching through tour books for interesting places to stop along the way.
2 Corinthians 5:17
What's slug bug and splinter? : |
His Servant
Slug bug is really fun! Though, my brother really likes to "punch" (for fun :P You have to understand what I'm talking about to understand!) me really hard when he sees them :)
Anyways, on road trips, I like to sleep most of the way, or look out the window, or listen to music. If it's a road trip to Nationals, my dad likes us to study pretty much the whole way :)
God's Maiden of Virtue
Crocheting, reading (though I can't read for too long or I get carsick), talking with my brothers, and looking out the window are the main things I enjoy doing on long car trips :) Though, I'm not particularly fond of long car trips- I usually get carsick and restless. I'm someone who likes to move around, so being stuck in the van for hours is not my favorite thing :)
His Servant
The last long trip I went on, I did some knitting :) Though, I haven't gotten that concept down well enough!
God's Maiden of Virtue
That sounds fun :) I'm thinking about learning to knit sometime.

Slug bugs are another term for Volkswagen bugs. You know the cars with that look like lady bugs!!!!!
And sprinters are rarely seen big vans that are sometimes used for transport!!! like Fed Ex uses them alot!!!! They look kind of like they are from a different country!!!!
admin
Yeah… we get goofy in the car too… Remember when we took the trip to WA together and when our cars would pass we would like wave through the windows and do all sorts of crazy stuff? LoL!
2 Corinthians 5:17
One thing we sometimes do (us children, at least!) Is to say we are other people in the other cars…. for example, when a car drives by, we'll say something like, "Hey, that's you, _____!" :D It kind of funny to see what "you look like" :D
Ian R.2
We do the same thing. Except we don't punch, we flick! :)
biblebee
We like playing slug bug.
Random Narnian Warrior (Tarva/Abi)
I usually read. Sometimes we bring a laptop and watch a movie. I've tried drawing, but unless the road is perfectly smooth, that sometimes doesn't turn out too well. I also count the orange cars I see (because orange is my favorite color).
Random Narnian Warrior (Tarva/Abi)
Is slug-bug where, if you see a VW bug, you hit the arm of the person sitting next to you and say "slug bug"? We do that sometimes with PT Cruisers, and we say "PT bruiser".
biblebee
Yes that is what slug bug is :D
Random Narnian Warrior (Tarva/Abi)
Lol!
SavedByGrace
Somehow a weird tradition started in our family a long time ago, where, if you see a truck from this company called J. B. Hunt, you shout out "J. B. Hunt!" before anyone else. I don't know why we do it, but we always do… :P
Also, I just got a Kindle Touch on Wednesday, so I think that's going to be my favorite thing to do on car trips. It is so much less bulky than regular books, and it can hold TONS of information, so I can never run out of stuff to read! (Oh yeah, and the games on it are pretty fun too…. :D LOL)
Dani(elle)
His name is Sam. Lol :)
Me and my brother used to play slug bug but my mom outlawed it. :) lol
Ruth Smith
Yes I remember that!!!! My what fun times we have had together over the years:):):) I was just thinking about how fun the Food Conference was :):):)
You know, we should drive up to WA together again this year!!!!!!
Ian R.2
My mom and my sister both have a Kindle Touch and they love them!
Dani(elle)
That was random. Lol i didn't know ur mom had one! Lol :)
SavedByGrace
Actually, it wasn't random–see the last page. :D
His Servant
Sometimes I wonder….do people use their Kindle Touch more for reading, or playing the games? :D
SavedByGrace
Ahem…. It's a pretty even balance for me right now… Maybe I should change that… :P
His Servant
Haha…maybe you should. Anyways, did you see my comment to you under Social Chatting?
Dani(elle)
I believe, (u can tell me if I'm wrong Ian) that ur sister mostly uses hers for reading. Which begs the question… Why isn't she on memverse??????
admin
YES!!!!!
Evan Smythe
Jordan we are so looking forward to CH with you all:) I can't wait!!!
Ian R.2
Sorry Danielle, my sister uses it mostly for the games. :) She is not on Memverse because she doesn't really have an interest in memorizing Bible verses.
SavedByGrace
AUGH!!! Get her interested!!! What could be more important??? :P
Ian R.2
I've tried, but I can't get her into it. :( I hope I can get my brother interested, but he doesn't seem to want to either.
Dani(elle)
Yeah he's more interested in light sabers. :). Oh well….
Hiruko Kagetane
Well, if he comes here, he can read about how Pippin once got a lightsaber……
Dani(elle)
Lol he's only like 10 or 11, right Ian? I'm sorry. :)
Ian R.2
Actually he's 12, and he loves Star Wars, and Lord of the Rings, and Ninjago, and Hero Factory, and etc….
Dani(elle)
He's should love memorizing the Bible too!! :)
Holy Ghost
Has anyone here been to New York?
Dani(elle)
My brother went to New York on a mission trip a couple weeks ago. :)
Ruth Smith
My mom was born in New York, so we've been back there quite a few times to visit relatives! I've only been to the city once, and it was in rush hour, so I didn't rally enjoy it!
Hiruko Kagetane
Been there, done that. Really crowded, people drive like maniacs, AND DOES ANYONE SLEEP IN THAT PLACE?!? Not my favorite place.
Dani(elle)
Don't u have relatives in Brooklyn?? :) lol and Harlem?? Jk!
Hiruko Kagetane
Brooklyn yes. Harlem no. Very funny Danielle, very funny! :-P
Dani(elle)
Lol sorry. I couldn't help by thinking about that quote from glory road. Lol the one when he asks them if they r from Harlem . Lol :)
biblebee
I personally like real books…more than the kindle :D
Dani(elle)
Yeah me too!
