I'm glad someone finally asked! =D

I was actually very impressed with it. I went in with pretty low expectations, because the trailer didn't look that good, but I was pleasantly surprised. I thought the acting was above average, the camera work was very good, the music was fitting, and the sets were well done.

Now I know the big thing that most people didn't like was the violence. But actually – as morbid as this may sound – that was one of my favorite parts. Not because I like violence, but because the makers of the movie were actually bold enough to portray the Indians in an historically accurate way, when it came to the way they fought. Sure, it may have been disturbing to see/hear the tomahawks making contact, to see gunshot wounds, etc. But that's how it happened. They didn't shrink back and try to make it palatable. I thought that was a very admirable decision on the part of the movie makers.

Now, another issue was that there was no gospel presentation. Some would say, "What's the point of having a Christian movie if you're not going to present the gospel?" I agree, to some extent. However, I don't think the purpose of the movie was evangelistic. It was a cinematic depiction of a beloved book. Nothing more. I appreciated the brief scene where Barbara told her Indian lover that her God was different from his. That He had sent His Son Jesus to forgive our sins. I thought that was a good way to at least reference the gospel, without making it seem out of place. That's the problem with a lot of Christian movies sometimes: they make it seem really forced. That's why I was sort of okay with the fact that there wasn't really a true presentation of the gospel in the movie. I was afraid that if one had been included, it would have ruined the flow of the movie.

So anyway…. yeah, I liked it. I'm interested to hear what others thought though.

I enjoyed it! I was glad that they stuck as close to the book as they did. I hate it when I watch a movie based on a book and it is nothing like the book. I also thought it was cool that I recognized at least three of the actors from either other movies or books:)

I completely agree with all that, but I will never stop whining about how the books are always better than the movies. Never.

Wise words of wisdom.

You people are so mean! The point of having a superhero around is that no one dies! Ever heard of the Punisher? Iron Man? Captain America? Wolverine? Rorschach? Etc
Punisher's not a super hero. He's a freelancing vigilante. Iron Man and Cap, when they have killed, have had extenuating circumstances surrounding those particular events. Logan's....................Logan. He's had...a difficult past. And stuff. And adamantium claws. *goes to look up Rorschach, even though the name sounds familiar*

Rorschach is also widely recognized as a superhero, and he's almost as violent as the punisher!

I think that might be why he's kinda controversial on here.

I don't need to know all about something to figure out why people don't like it. Just so you know, I'm okay with a little bit of violence, but if it's for the wrong reason, as the Punisher and Rorschach's seem to be, then it's not good.
EDIT: Is not knowing about all these so-called "superheroes" a problem?

Yes, I noticed that. xD And now I can't fault her for saying lol all over the place, because now I know that she seriously does do that in real life. xP

Since this is a movie thread....what did you all think of "Alone yet not Alone", of those who saw it?

The movie itself was pretty good not incredible but good. :) I'll always love it though just cause of the memories it holds being at nats and all :P :) It was a awesome way to end and awesome 3 days. ;)
