2014 Biblebee topic!

(According to Matthew) We have 18 seconds for each question on the test, if you want to get done about exactly on time. So, you're right, Rosie. If you want some time for review at the end, you need to do 15 seconds average for each question. My advice is to go as fast as you can on the questions that you know you know, that way you can spend more time on the hardest ones.

Thank you both! :) That is exactly what I wanted to know! :)

Hey guys do you know where to go to get the oral requirement verses? We went searching for them a couple days ago, but couldn't find them. :\
Ashley Mc <3
They haven't been released yet…(at least, I don't think they have…)
Ian R.2
Okay, on the website they said they were out, but maybe not yet. Thanks. :)
Margaret Eddy
They are in your family control panel (or whatever it is called).
Ian R.2
It was the first thing I saw on the website. It said Oral requirement verses now available, please sign into your family control panel now.
Margaret- We looked there, but couldn't find anything. :\

Haha! I know, I feel the same! :D

It should be under "Family Resources" at the top of the list. I think you have to download it.
Ashley Mc <3
Yea…sorry, I totally missed that! :)

I was looking at the Hebrew / Greek words, and I thought it might be nice if there were an easy way to tell which words are Hebrew and which are Greek. I don't need it myself, but it might help somebody. :)
Here's what I came up with. Try to apply the rules in this order, or you might mess up the Hebrew kaʽaç, which can also be spelled kaʽas.
- If the word has an apostrophe, it’s Hebrew. (Examples: ʼel, yeshuwʽah)
- If the word ends in a vowel, it’s Greek.
- If the word ends in an S, it’s Greek.
EDIT: This only applies to the key words given in the Sword Study.
2 Corinthians 5:17
Honestly? This applies to all of the key words? Thanks!! I'm having such a tricky time keep the gracious/kindness/anger/etc words straight :P
Child of God
Me too! The kindness/gracious are the hardest for me. :) How's your studying going?

2 Corinthians 5:17
Going pretty well :) Feeling a bit crunched for time tho! You?
Emma
Thank you so much for sharing this!

I memorized Nahum yesterday… I think it's very interesting and gives details about Nineveh's evil, destruction, and God's wrath/anger. I recommend reading it a few times and getting a general idea of the book. :)
2 Corinthians 5:17
Wow, you memorized it?! Good for you! I read it yesterday and made notes on things I learned about Nineveh :)

Yes, they are all so similar!

Very crunched for time, because I have a bunch of school stuff too…. :( I don't know if i will make it to Nats, but that's not the thing that matters! :)

That's good! As long as you know the similar parts :)

I have read it through several times, but haven't actually memorized it

Just wondering…what's the passing score, for the Senior test? Just wondering what to aim for…
Ian R.2
Just finished scoring the test Andrew, and Everett made up. Got 78 wrong. :( I do have one complaint. Next time don't make some of the answers so close, I couldn't tell the difference between some. :(
Everett C.
Depends if it's easy or hard… Based on last year's test, I'd say missing 50 is okay but 60-70 is cutting it close. Aim to get it perfect :)

But it's very hard to say.

Okay. I'm trying to get less than 30 wrong, if I can. :)

True, some of them were pretty close. It was supposed to be hard so don't worry. Sorry about that.

Ambitious, but possible. Just do your best!

I just hope that the answers won't be that close on the test. :) BTW, some of the Greek and Hebrew words that you put in there weren't in the SS. Like the Hebrew word for sea. :\

It was meant to simulate last year's Local test. And yes, there were a few Hebrew words not from the SS because they're usually on the test…

I remember there were words like that too, but I found out later that they were mentioned in the SS, but there wasn't a big word study on them. :)

Really? I couldn't find them afterwards… See if you can find "Paressia" in the 1 John Sword Study :) I didn't see it in mine.

I can't find it, but I can't seem to find a Greek word that I know what it means and I know it's in there, but I can't remember it. Can you please tell me what Paressia means? :P

A few years ago someone on Quizlet asked if anyone remembers any questions from the test. Some of us (including me!) posted some questions that resembled it and then they said someone stole 50 questions from the Senior test. O_o You can talk about it in general but ever since then I like to play it safe. :P
