Bible Bee Chat Room

Well, I think I told you (maybe) that we stayed up until midnight on Friday to find out our rankings. Since Delie and Kara were only one point apart, we thought that Kara was most likely 8th (though I guess with ties it didn't have to be that way) :).

How did you find out your rankings on Friday? I thought the scores were released Saturday evening. We figured that you must have known Delie's ranking and determined Kara's. :) All your siblings that tested, qualified, right? Congratulations to you all once again!

Since Daddy was our host, he got our rankings Friday morning. We had a very small Bee this year, and no one was able to come to our celebration, so Daddy decided that we could just have our party at midnight!

Yes, all of us (the six that were old enough) qualified! We are very excited! :) In fact, our whole Bee qualified!!! The catch is that we only had eight contestants (six of them in our family). Mommy and Daddy got us a cake for Friday (really Saturday, I guess) that said "Congratulations National Qualifiers" and had all our names on it :). It was a really special little party.

Okay, that makes sense. :) That's so wonderful that you all qualified, and I'm glad you had a good celebration party! Looking forward to seeing you all, Lord willing!

I placed 172nd. Not bad for someone who quit studying. XP

Thanks! I know them too from Nationals, plus they come out to our area once a year to pack Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes. Just talked to Kyle on the phone recently xD They both did really well this year. Have you started the pre-released verses?

That's cool. I didn't know they helped with Operation Christmas Child box packing! I've always thought that would be cool to do! :) Yes, they were surprised about how well they did! I'm glad they got such great scores!

There's usually a packing center near us, so last year my dad and I did it with them and some other Bible Bee families.

Wowie! At the assembly centers, one person has to unpack almost everything and check to make sure there's no inappropriate items. Then they have to put it back :P

I am pretty excited, but it's also a lot of pressure xP I got my score at the end of the test and wasn't surprised, but my ranking was a little surprising because I didn't know how everyone would score this year. I don't want to get his hopes up, but I'm pretty sure that Bible Bee is accepting alternates this year. Basically, if any National qualifier drops out, they invite the next highest person ranked below #120. Usually there's over 15 that drop out from each division, so your friend might be able to still make it! I turned 14 in June this year. You're 15, right?

Okay. My family and I will fly, as we've done for four straight years :) There was a little pressure for me to make the top 120 because my mom bought plane tickets to SA a week before the test :P Figured that San Antonio wouldn't be a bad vacationing spot if we didn't qualify ;)
