Is it right for a Christian to drink....

shakes head You three!!!
I think that nail polish is okay….depending on the color used. I personally don't like most of the colors that are used. The ones that…I think…should be used is the really light colors.
Ian R.2
Yes she does, but when she does I think is goes all the way down to her upper hamstrings. She usually wears it up in a nice little bun though.

WOW!!!!!!!
In It Not Of It
Someone once said about nailpolish "red is too much and black is just weird"
perfectly put.
I personally dont wear it cuz then i cant effectively do chores.
Dani(elle)
Lol
I never find time to do my nails. Lol I always want to but then like 100 other things get in the way. Lol :)

About bodymarking, would you say drawing on yourself with a pen is sinful? How long does a tattoo have to last before it is bad? I'm not pro-tattoos but I just want to hear your answers :)
Dani(elle)
IDK it's mostly the message that tattoos send that I dislike. I mean there is a reason that you can't get certain jobs when you have tatoos on your neck and face etc.
biblebee
I don't think drawing with a pen on yourself is sinful. I do so on my fingers :) But pen washes right off while tattoos…once put on…are always on. We are the temple of God, and our body is the temple of God. Therefore does God want tattoos on His temple?
Jarrett
do you think temporary tattoos are okay?
biblebee
It depends on how temporary and what it is. What about you?
biblebee
I should say that when I draw on my fingers it is only a smiley face and then it comes off right away.

For me, tattoos have always been associated with bad people. Always. So, it's hard for me to see someone even with a tattoo of a Scripture verse, and think of them as a person I could stay at home with without needing a phone next to me at all times. I do know good people who do have tats, and so I can look past that, but it does send a message, no matter what the tat is or says.

DITTO!
Jarrett
well like the tattoos that u put on for 30 sec and then i stays for like 4 days and then when u shower it comes of
SavedByGrace
Hmm… maybe you should tell that to Mr. Baker, Sam. ;P
Hiruko Kagetane
I did say I could look past it! But it was a bit hard when he first started coming.
SavedByGrace
I can see where you're coming from. :) I've never really had a problem with associating tattoos with anything specific, so I didn't really have to make any sort of mental adjustments when Mr. Baker started coming to our church. :)
biblebee
Mr. Baker? Is that a man at your church?
SavedByGrace
Yes, he is. :)
biblebee
Oh, okay.
In It Not Of It
Yaa……its often strange people who put tatoos on.
Dani(elle)
Well to give a little bit of another few on this:
One of my counselors at camp had a little 2inch by 1 inch tatoo shaped like a cross on her foot. She doesn't seem like the kind of girl that would ever get a tatoo but it's really small and it shaped like a cross but it's permenant……
biblebee
Personally I don't think any tattoos are good. Because to me it is a sign of worldly people. Also once you have it put on it's permanent. Do you really want something permanently put onto you?
Dani(elle)
True. So u would say even a little tiny cross tatoo is evil?
In It Not Of It
Its not that tatoos are evil, its just sorta destroying your temple in a way. I know some Christians that have them and they got them b4 they got saved. I dont hold tatoos against a person, I wouldn't get one, and I dont reccomend it. Besides - the people who do them oftentimes don t clean the needle well (there are like NO regulations) and then people get diseases from using a needle that someone else did. Its not really safe- and some of these diseases (AIDS for example ) are deadly.
In It Not Of It
SO jealous of your mom -Ian!!!
Dani(elle)
Cause she has long hair?
biblebee
I wouldn't say that it is necessarily "evil" but I don't think that Christians should get tattoos. Because…at least to me….tattoos are a sign of the world. And like IINOI said, "It kind of destroys your temple".
2 Corinthians 5:17

Ditto!
Dani(elle)
True. :)
In It Not Of It
yup. Im jeleous of her long hair. Mine reaches the end of my shoulder muscle on my arm.-not long enough :)
Dani(elle)
It'll grow. :) a year ago I had my hair cut a little shorter than that but now it's like down to the middle of my upper arm. But I have long arms. :)
Sarah
Same here! My hair grows REALLY slow. I had my hair cut in a summer bob (just above the shoulder) when I was seven, and it just grew back to its original length about a year ago. It's about halfway down my upper arm currently.
ChiefofSinners II
I would like to hear some elaboration on this concept of "destroying your temple." Is it therefore a sin to get a scar if you get in an accident? What constitutes "destroying" your body? Can you ever eat food that's not 100% the best for you? Can you ever get a sunburn? Or a mosquito bite? Or poison ivy? Should we be trying as hard as we possibly can to be preventing those types of things?
SavedByGrace
Obviously these things are not sins if done accidentally, but I'd like to hear what others think about whether or not it is a sin to purposely put a tattoo on yourself, or dye your hair, or put on nail polish.
Sarah
i personally think that nail polish is fine because it usually comes off after about half a week. Hair dyeing and tattoos… I'm not really sure.
Hiruko Kagetane
I'm okay with hair dyeing, as long as you don't change your hair color as much as Lady Gaga does.
Dani(elle)
She freaks me out! Just sayin..
biblebee
Those things are going to happen and that is how God made it. But tattoos are something you purposefully put on. And once it's on you it's permanently staying there. Our body is the temple of the living God and we need to take care of it. We are told to be set apart/separate from the world. To me tattoos and hair-dying are things of the world. True, not every person in the world has tattoos and their hair dyed, but to me it is a symbol of the world. It is not necessary for Christians to have tattoos and I think we can do better without them. Do you think that Christians can get tattoos? Dye their hair? Wear nail polish?
In It Not Of It
I'm staying away from this stuff so I dont turn out like Miley Nut Cyrus.
biblebee
I'm staying away from this stuff so I dont turn out like Miley Nut Cyrus.
Who/What is that?
In It Not Of It
The real name of Hannah Montana :) I added her middle name though.
biblebee
Okay…whoever she is :)
Christian Alexander
Actually, I believe her birth name is Destiny Hope Cyrus. But she changed it to Miley when she got into acting and music. :P
@ Carissa: You're not missing much. :P
Dani(elle)
U don't want to no. She is really messed up now. :)
Hiruko Kagetane
She looks so crazy and fake nowadays.
biblebee
Yeah…I'm glad I don't know who she is :)
In It Not Of It
Chief of sinners is correct about her name. Either way …… NOT A FAN.
Hannah W. (Adelaide)
Either way ...... NOT A FAN.
DITTO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hiruko Kagetane
But, I don't believe that dying your hair, wearing nail polish, or even getting a tattoo is going to make you as crazy as Not-So-Smiley-Miley. And, if we're going the " this is what the world does" route, couldn't we say the same thing about comic books? Or movie theaters?
