as Eryana goes to see Sussana, Turner and James follow her father down the same hallway through which they just came

we come to a large courtyard with weapons all around us, then Eryana's father turns to us, and says Now we shall see if you are worthy. Guards! we are suddenly surrounded by six large men

OOC: This is like Eryana and Sussana all over again {in a way, that is} =)

Eryana's father speaks
"Choose your weapon of choice, and the close-combat training will begin. James, you will go first, and I will send my men two at a time. Attempt to disarm them. When you are done with the first group of two, you will face the second, then the third. If at any time you are disarmed, you will fail this part of the test."

OOC: Not quite. ;)

OOC: I just meant that in the way that they had to fight 6 large men in the courtyard too…though I'm sure there is a difference in skill ;-)

OOC: Different courtyard, only two men at a time, attempting only to disarm. ;P

Okay, but is it okay to use the weapons I already have? he nods, and I smile Excellent. Let's get started. two men run at me with their swords, but all I do is a back flip, and my feet connect with their swordhands, sending their swords flying

I land Is that all you've got? two other men come charging at me, but their swordshands are in an area I can't kick with another back flip Wise. I unsheathe my sword, and they swing their swords at me, but I merely duck under them

laughs and turns to Eryana's father

I jump up right when they're ready to take another swing, and disarm both of them Who's next? the last two running at me, but I put up my hood and disappear into the shadows

"Excellent work, young James! You have greatly increased your chances of receiving my approval, but we shall see how proficient you are in other areas first. Now for your turn, Turner. You may use your own weapon if you wish."

with a knowing smile, holds sword up in a defensive position

both swing at me, but I dodge one blow and block the other, and break through between the two

one attacks fiercely, but I easily dodge his blow and perform a swinging kick that sends his sword flying

the remaining man of the group tries to hit my sword hard enough to disarm me, but I turn the tables on him and successfully do the same to him
Next?

the first of the next two men approaches, and I kick his leg, tripping him; the other of the group swings while I'm off balance, but I recover in time to surprise him with a hard blow that disarms him

the first man quickly struggles to his feet, but I easily knock his sword out of his hand while he is distracted
