Nooo! Sorry! I didn't think it came across harsh!!! I'm just kinda tired of hearing all the things about BB changes and everyone being unhappy so I've been kinda short about it. Sorry about my comment! Please forgive me! I'm really sorry about that!
No; I did say it in a rougher way than was necessary. But I do think you should consider these changes as more weighty than the changes made in 2013 and 14. They have far greater implications.
Wow. Does anyone else feel the drama and tension here, or is it just me? Seriously guys, I know this information is big and new, but is it worth worrying over?
Yeah, I think we just need to praying about this all right now. Anyway, it's not like we can do anything about the changes... Want to join us on SC, sir?

I will, but no guarantee on how long I can stay. :)

Not worrying, no. But I think we should all be concerned.

An unfortunately not misplaced apostrophe: :'( Whereunto cometh the world?
AGH! NOW THERE IS A MISPLACED COLON AND THE FIRST HALF OF A PARENTHESES AS WELL! THIS PLACE IS INFESTED WITH MISPLACED AND MISUSED PUNCTUATION! IS THIS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I LEAVE FOR MONTHS?

Parenthesis. PARENTHESIS! Not "a parentheses". You discussed me. :P

THAT'S WHY I SAID "HALF", IDIOT. PARENTHESES IS THE PAIR.

How about we just stop "being concerned" and sees what happens. We need to give these new people a chance instead of just instantly writing them off. We should be praying about this and see where the Lord takes this. Everything is under God's control and He thought it for the best to have the changes. Lets see what God does with this. :)

See, I'm not instantly writing them off. I've heard and seen things that… I just can't say here. But this isn't just an innocent change in BB management.

Oh but, just now, you said
You literally couldn't get out of bed
That really makes me want to literally
Smack a crowbar upside your stupid head…

I don't even know where to start with the word "discusseding". It has not gotten past me these last few posts, but really, I just can't take it anymore.

I don't see how "Half of a dozen eggs" and "half of a parentheses" differ. What should I have said?

Dozen is singular. Parentheses is plural. You should have said something like, "half of a pair of parentheses".
Insults aside, that should have been obvious. But no matter. Fare-decently. :P

"This Song is just Six Words Long" by him is pretty funny too, though I might think that it is more so because I have had to compose, and of course, I write poetry, so as a musician I understand.

The irony, of course, is that "This song is just six words long" is seven words.

This song is just six words long
This song is just six words long
This song is just six words long
This song is just six words long

Couldn't think of any lyrics
No i never wrote the lyrics
So i'll just sing any old lyrics
That come to mind, child

You really need words
Whole lotta rhyming words
You gotta rhyme so many words, mm-mm
To do it, to do it, to do it, to do it
To do it, to do it right, child

This song is just six words long
This song is just six words long
This song is just six words long
This song is just six words long

I know that you're probably sore
'cause i didn't write any more
I just didn't get to complete it
So that's why i gotta repeat it

This song is just six words long (six words long)
This song is just six words long (six words long)

Oh i make a lotta money
They pay me a ton of money
They're payin' me plenty of money
To sing this song, child

I gotta fill time
Three minutes worth of time
Oh, how will i fill so much time, mm-mm
I'll throw in a solo, a solo, a solo
A solo, a solo here

This song is just six words long
This song is just six words long
This song is just six words long
This song is just six words long

This song's got nothin' to say
But i'm recording it anyway
I know if i put my mind to it
I know i could find a good rhyme here

Oh, you gotta have-a music
You need really catchy music
This song has got plenty of music
But just six words, child

And so i'll sing' em over
And over and over and over
And over and over and over, mm-mm
And over and over and over
And over and over and over again

Six words long, six words long
Six words long, six words long
Six words long, six words long

This song is just six words long
It's just six words long

Let's not even go there. :P Margaret: Yeah, back then everybody wanted certain changes and now some of them are being put into practice and everyone complains. :P
I think the significance of some of the changes is being missed by most people here.

Nicolas, in all seriousness, if you can't explain on here why you are making these comments, why make them at all? The same type of comments were made last year by those who were offended by the removal of the Local Oral Test, and in 2012 by those who disliked the seeming continual decrease in the memory verses. No matter what your "inside knowledge", I say just wait and see what God is up to, please! :)

I tried to wade through the conversation from today, but would someone mind summarizing the new changes announced today? We weren't able to watch the Webinar today, but it sounds like there are some big changes.

Okay, so some of the changes are:

Study starts on June 22. The Locals test can be taken online (no hosted contest at all) between Aug. 1-7. Aug. 8 is an awards day.

The Locals test has timed questions, like the MV quizzes: only so many seconds per question, and you can't go back and change an answer.

No Sword Study this year - instead, the Bible Bee Study Guide (or something like that). It will be released week by week during the study time (that includes Locals verses). Some Nats verses will be released on June 22 also.

Hey guys! I have a question. How do you start a new topic in the forums?

Over in the top left corner, right underneath where it says 'Forums » General » Bible Bee' or something like that, it'll say 'New Topic' . Click on that and you got it. x)

My mom and I were thinking last night about their releasing some of the Nats verses early. What if you're new and don't know if you're going to make it? Then you might not memorize them because you think since it's you're first year, you probably won't make it. But then what if you do make it; then you're behind everybody else, because they already memorized the verses that were released. ^hopes that made sense :P^

I just wanted to point out that testing will only be on August 1st. They clarified that last night, and apologized for the error.
Also, testing begins at 8am EDT and ends at 9pm PDT. The poor guy was typing so fast he got a few of the answers wrong :P

It's kinda sad for me to see all of these changes in what might be my last year of actually competing, but I get that a new staff means new changes. 2010 was an even bigger change than this, actually, but we didn't even have the chance to get used to the old format (or the old staff), so it was a little easier to adjust. And I'm pretty sure that the new staff aren't actively trying to disintegrate the BB! They definitely have my prayers.

Depends on how many verses they give us, but I think I'll do the same. We have plenty of time after locals! Over 3 months!
