Will anyone at the Memverse meeting have Skype or FaceTime available? I would love to be able to join for a few minutes from China. :)

You know, some contestants are going to have interviews for NBBGS on Thursday and Friday, so we don't want the meeting to get in the way of that.

Maybe you can explain– will the Game Show contestants be chosen after the semis/finals, or before? If before, will those contestants be allowed to compete in semis/finals?

I think that interviews are during semis/finals, but I assume that semi-finalists will be allowed to compete in both Game Show and semis. If someone was in semis and also was chosen to be interviewed, then their interview wouldn't be during their semi-final round. I don't know this for sure, but it's just what I think/what makes sense.

I see your point, but like everyone else, I have to vote for Wednesday. Tuesday night is the host appreciation dinner and since my family and I are hosts, we wouldn't be able to come. I might be able to come at one point… I'll have to see how everything goes.

My parents are hosts, too, but I think that I'll still be able to come (although I may need to bring along a few of my youngest siblings while my parents are at the dinner).

Thursday should be all right; I'm not sure if we were planning to do anything in town that day. We shall see! Anyway, I think I'll be at the Quizlet meeting if not the MV meeting. I hope we'll be able to come, though.

Guys, we should hurry up and just pick a time. That way those of us who want to come to the meeting but also have other things to do can plan our their schedules. :)

Why not just have the Quizlet meeting and the MV meeting at the same place at the same time? The people on both are pretty much the same, and it's okay to meet other people you don't know. ( ;) ) It would be a lot easier to coordinate, too. The Quizlet meeting is on Tuesday, right, and that would be easier since there are Semi-Finals all day Thursday. Just a thought.

If it is on Tuesday, I will either not be able to come or not be able to stay long, and I know that will be the case for a lot of people. =/

Just so you guys know, it looks right now like both Tuesday and Wednesday definitely will not work for either meeting, for security reasons if nothing else. So we might just end up combining them on Thursday.

For security reasons? Is that with Bible Bee or the hotel or something else?

The BB has really heightened its security this year, we can't just hold a meeting in the hallways wherever we want - we need a room. And there won't really be a time available on Tuesday or Wednesday anyways.

They said we can have the meeting at the contestant fun night! They start at 6:15 PM. There's going to be an icebreaker and a short Q/A session with your division commander, but after that it's free time basically. "It's designed to be an unstructured time where contestants can organize games and get to know one another." We can stay until 8:30 PM, at which time they'll need to break down for the next day's events. I don't know what time the host dinner is but I assume it's before then, since they said they want all contestants to attend. Edit - Oh, and they also said that there will be separate rooms for each of the divisions, but after the initial icebreaker, contestants are welcome to mingle in the other rooms.

Depending on what happens, I will try to be there…but I might not be able to go. =/

Neat! Thanks for the info! I'm glad that contestants aren't stuck in one age division most of the time :). Do you know if the Q/A session is them quizzing us on John 7-12, them asking us get-to-know-you questions, or us asking them questions about the format of WT and OR?

The host dinner is from 5:00 to 6:00, so it will (hopefully) be over by the contestant fun night.

Wait, I'm confused…

They said they want all contestants to attend the Tuesday evening contestant fun night. Guess you don't have to come, but you'll be missing out on what sounds like is going to become as fun of a tradition as the square dance!

It sounds like it will be a bit like the Game Show week, which was one of the best (maybe the best) weeks of my life, so I definitely don't want to miss it! :)
