Nationals was AMAZING! I got to meet so many incredible, Godly people, including several from Memverse. I saw the P……..'s, the Sinnis, the Waters, the Alexanders, the Chews, and the Leonards, just to name a few. I was especially excited for Taylor in the Primary Finals, because he is my cousin. It's fun to have a relative that is so famous :) Anyhow, Nationals was incredible, and, Lord willing, when they come around next year, I would recommend anyone to attend!

As he himself told me a few days ago, yes, biblebeebunny is Jarrett Chew. :)

P.S. By the way, Jarrett, you did a very good job! :)

I made 14th place–two others got out in the first round, while I got out in the second. (The reason I'm not 13th place is that there were 16 semifinalists.)

You did a great job, Nicolas :)

I really cannot wait to see how I did at Nationals. Last year, I couldn't say that because I knew I did dreadful in my oral round, but this year since I did better (I got through all my passages…last year, I didn't get to 4 of them!), I'm excited about getting my score :P I check their website almost everyday, but it still hasn't come out yet. Get to learn a little patience I guess =D

How is it going…switching from NIV to ESV? Hard? Easy?

@ALL - I have several pictures that I got at Nationals with some of you (or just you by yourself) I was wondering…do you mind if I post them on my blog? My dad said to check with you before I do…

(This is to those in semi-finals, or finals, anyone that I know on here that I got my picture taken with…)

Do you mind? If you could answer asap I would appreciate it! Thanks

-Bethany P.

(Also, if you got any photos with me or any in my family, would you mind sending them to me through e-mail? You can find it on my profile…Thanks again!)

My parents just gave me the OK–go ahead! Wretched Man said that he doesn't want any pictures of himself posted… but you know all about Wretched Man's overabundant sarcasm. :P

Thanks! I don't know if I have any pictures with him in it…I do know of pictures of you in semi-finals and I have one with Rosie. Do you think she'll mind if I post that one?

@Thanks Jimmy and Febah!

@GMOV - he did? tsk tsk tsk, Nicolas! :) Just kidding. Maybe you and Christian should switch to ESV. :) BTW, I have a letter going out in the mail for you but we don't have the right stamps…….so it's waiting for the Post Office.

You guys aren't making this any easier. :P But actually, Christian switched to NKJV last year (and that is what he used for this past Bible Bee), and I have already decided that I am going to use ESV. I think everyone in our family but me is using NKJV. :)

I memorize in NKJV but ESV is really good as well. In fact, my sister is thinking about switching to ESV after she's to old for the Bible Bee.

BBJ13- I received your letter a few days ago- I was really excited! Thank you so much! BTW, I sent one back the day after, so you should find a letter for you in your mailbox soon (if you haven't already of course)….=)

Zachary Baas- I tried to convince Nicolas to switch to NKJV, but I think he has made his final decision. :/

Now that Nationals is over (and Bible Bee), how is everyone doing on getting back into "normal life"? Or, has it been hard to get back into "normal life" and not do hours on end of Bible study?

I miss doing Bible Bee =) It just doesn't feel right now to not always care around a ring of verses with me…

I totally feel the same way. I keep thinking I should be holding a huge stack of verse cards in my hand… and then I remember that I don't have to anymore. :P

As you just requested, I will attempt to tell how I prepared for Nationals. I honestly had no set format whatsoever–with the verses, I just memorized them and reviewed them over and over and over and over and over and over, etc., and with 1 Timothy I just read the book many times and wrote down in a notebook Greek words (from a Strong's concordance) and cross-references (from my NIV Study Bible). Other than that, I didn't have any organization to what I was doing… sorry I can't be more clear than that. :)

P.S. Oh yeah, and one more VERY important thing–prayer. LOTS of prayer. :)

Interesting. I feel like all of my studying…I don't know what to say about it. Am I just not hitting the right things to study? I don't know. Though, whether I advance or not, I'm still learning SO much from God's Word, and that is what counts!

Do you feel like the test was hard? And, are you not nervous, just because you feel prepared?

EDIT - Did you do more than what you said, or you didn't? It wasn't the clearest…or did you do more, it just wasn't in an organized format?

Prayer. Oh, yeah, have to have LOTS of that! Only by God's grace is it that we go onto Nationals or anything like that.

I absolutely agree that all this learning from God's Word is what really counts. As for your question about "just not hitting the right things to study," I'm not sure. I felt prepared just because I had studied the material a LOT and figured I had cross-references, Greek words, and content down pretty well.

Did I feel that the test was hard? Well… it wasn't exactly hard, but it sure wasn't easy. It was easier than I thought it would be, but it was still pretty hard. I wasn't nervous because I had felt prepared, yes, but also because I knew that nothing would happen that wasn't meant to happen. :)

I did not study any more than what I said above–I guess my comment wasn't very clear on that, sorry. Really, hardly anything of what I did was organized. :)
